What is your favourite comfort food? /ck/
Simple, cozy food that makes you well fed and slightly sleepy?
Mine is fish pie.
I just made loads. And it's halfway ready.
Cod fillet, some smoked mackerel, prawns, peas and sweetcorn.
Bechemel sauce, well seasoned and herbs.
Placed into a deep baking dish, topped with a layer of mashed potato,
Dried breadcrumbs on top of that for crispiness.
Baked for 20 mins on low and 20 mins on medium to high.
Rest for 3 mins.
Thai curry. Reminds me of an amazing restaurant I went to with my dad for years. They made the absolute best curry you've ever had.

Shitty chefs do exist y'know
Spaghetti alla carbonara
Takes 15~ minutes to make and 4 of actual work.
All you need is one egg, salt, pepper, spaghetti, parmigiano and smoked pancetta.
It's actually pretty light if you make it properly and it always tastes great

Pasta. (here a gratin)
I used to have pasta every wednesday when I was a kid.
Today, as an aging man, I still want my pasta every wednesday!
>>7502468
Mum used to always make custard when I was sick as a kid, so homemade custard is a big one. Never too thick though.
>>7503577
It's a tartiflette, a french dish. Potatoes, reblochon cheese (and not aubergine), lardons(cubes of pork fat) and onions. It's delicious
>>7502468
rosol.
Im an aussie, all my grandparents are polish. Nothing can come close to homemade kluski noodles and a good chicken broth with heaps of carrots and parsley
My grandma used to make the best Shepard's Pie
A massive fuckoff unpretentious pizza.
Soy pasta. Essentially pasta, cooked and drained and then returned to the pot to add dark and another variety of soy, herbs, spices (chilli required), oyster sauce and a speck of either butter of sesame seed oil to prevent drying. Put that shit on high heat and stir until there isn't any liquid soy sauce left on the bottom.
Basically vascular disease in a bowl but by god it's fucking good and goes down well after drinking.
Otherwise a big back of salt and vinegar chips.

Green pea soup. With ham, mustard and majoram. Served with chopped raw onion.
It is a food that tells me that the winter is long and merciless, but that you can make it again, and maybe next time too.
Ham split pea soup. Holy shit I could eat truckloads of that stuff.
Grilled cheese and tomato soup
Clam chowder and sourdough bread

Those fucking plates, I see them everywhere. Even my parents have a set.
I like to chug a glass of three raw eggs with milk before bed. it settles my stomach and makes me sleepy. it sounds bad but once you get used to it it is like having a pillow for your stomach and is really good for you if you exercise properly.
>>7502468
really fudgy brownies
mine's gotta be Chicken Casserole, two cans of campbells cream of chicken soup, bacon, onion, celery, all chopped into mid to small pieces, panfried, diced chicken, peas and corn to taste, put it all into a casserole dish, set it in the oven until everything's cooked through, serve it with vegetables if you didn't add any to the mix, potato chips, it's how my family's done it for years.
not the healthiest, but hey, we don't have it frequently
>>7504361

Fried green tomatoes. Holy shit, I love them. My grams used to fry these up in bacon grease. I think she used a mix of seasoned flour and cornmeal, idk. She'd make them special for me whenever I would go visit.
>>7502468
I like to put a few fresh mussels in mine, mainly so I can use the steaming liquor to make the velouté extra delicious.
