Hey /ck/
Never posted here before.
I've only ever posted on /b/ and this post will be in this fashion. So I apologize.
My friend is coming over on friday and cook out with me. I am a die hard griller (gas-fags go home), and he has no experience on a grill.
He's bringing over some venison to cook, and I'm pretty stoked about it.
I txted him today to remind him that the meat needs to be thawed before it's cooked, but kept cold. I honestly am completely unaware of his knowledge about cooking as a whole.
He said
>I was just going to throw it on frozen.
Pic related i what happened next.
>inb4 I spelled we're wrong

You're both wrong. It needs to be close to or at room temperature before you put it on the heat.
>>7499947
Maybe, but in terms of storage it needs to be kept cold.
I didnt want to tell him to set it out, and then it sat on his counter for 2 days

OK gonna try for a good discussion because I thought we were friends and you knew how to cook. This is OP's grill anon. He wanted me to season everything beforehand. But I read it was better to season it before freezing. So I did so and he postes his hated opinions on the Internet. Fuck you steve

This. The meat only needs to be kept chilled for long-term storage. A few hours before cooking, it's best to keep it at room temperature out of direct contact with the air.
