I very rarely eat biscuits/cookies with my tea. Every once in awhile I'll buy some of those super thin and crispy almond cookies and have those with tea in the afternoon, but that's about it.

In a way it is. It's more of a basic cookie without extra stuff or fancy filling like chocolate chips, raisins, etc. Think hardtack, but actually tasty.

I've had tea biscuits and hardtack and I can tell you've only had one or the other, the texture isn't even close. Hardtack is so dense it would hurt to bite into if you didn't soften it in soup or in your mouth.
