Coming from a boy scout, you can cook anything with one of these if you think outside of the box. A major favoriteof mine is cherry cobbler.

We regularly cook in the back yard. Generally we do something on the rotisserie, something on a grill grate, and a soup or stew in the dutch oven. Last time we also did a peach cobbler in a separate dutch oven. Good times.

Just got myself a Trangia 27 for a long backpacking trip. It's an ultralight aluminum cookset with an alcohol burner, 2 pots, fry pan, and kettle. Going to cook all my meals with this thing up until the day I leave so I can learn to use it well. It works surprisingly well, nice heat, simple temperature control/simmer ring.

Need some ideas for what to make. It only holds enough fuel to cook 30 minutes at a time but refilling is as simple as pouring alcohol into it, but it also means no long cook times or baking.

They do bitching roast potatoes. My father in law does it at the family easter picnic every year and they come out beautifully soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside.

> chicken soup and biscuits on top

My godmother made the best beef stew with biscuits on top but this was indoors in the kitchen.

My buddy, who is kinda our camp cook as he has culinary experience, has a Dutch oven and usually makes some kinda beans & rice dish with it when we’re camping.

They ruled Alzheimer out as genetic. The link to aluminum turned out to be a symptom of the disease and not the cause.
I did notice some discoloration after boiling some water. Is this normal?

Careful not to refill fuel when that thing is hot. Nearly didn't make it to adulthood because of one of those things.

On the plus side they run on fucking anything.

I've only ever had Peach Cobbler on Boy Scout outings.
It was good, but their particular recipe wasn't quite sweet enough for me.
