I like to mix it uncooked with plain yogurt, berries, and sliced almonds or walnuts the night before. Then, in the morning you have a creamy, delicious amalgam of all that. You can drizzle a little honey over the top if you want some sweetness, but it's not really necessary.
I always do a 1/2 cup of oats with one very ripe banana mashed into it then slices of golden delicious apple, brown sugar, and honey. sometimes granola or walnuts for that texture.
also, nothing wrong with mixing in a scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder.

If you have access to it, try peanut butter and bananas sliced up into it. It's fucking delicious, I do the same for oatmeal.
Mix in the peanut butter while the porridge is hot so it coats all of it.
