lol
I hate hearing "Italian" characters on American tv shows because nine times of ten, they're native speakers of Spanish who are European-looking. While they get all the vowels correct, they have the stress wrong and can't geminate. There are only about two dozen languages worldwide that geminate, only three of which are western European, and only two of those which are national languages: Italian and Danish.
As such, gemination is nearly impossible for foreigners.

my gfs mom is from NY and her parents are Irish. with that being said she insists on pronouncing anything that's a staple of Italian cuisine in its Italian pronunciation. it pisses me off to no end because I just know she wasn't raised to pronounce it that way. so why change it up? it's like a word can't have more than one pronunciation. our vowels and consonants don't work the same way Italians do. so stop pretending it makes you cultured or something because you pronounce mozzarella differently. you sound like a fucking ass hat and your daughters pussy isn't even that nice. troll thread but whatever it was a good launch point for a rant I needed. hate that cunt.

Pic related, the bottle of water I have here at work. Hope is proof enough.
>pronouncing the "t" in often
>pronouncing valet or homage like they are recently borrowed French words when neither of them are
>pronouncing coupon like it has a y in it
>pronouncing paradigm with a "dime" (even dictionaries have embraced this incorrectly)
