Is a hot dog a sandwich?
>>
>>7412800
Yes and fuck anyone who says otherwise. At worst it's an open faced sandwich.
>>
>>7412800
Yes.

Now, is cereal soup?
>>
No, it's a hot dog.

Yes.
Now, is fish meat?

Yes, regardless of what Catholics think. Fish are made of protein like land animals.

Is a burger a sandwich?
>>
>>7412835
Yes, it's food between two slices of bread.

Are three pieces of bread stacked a bread sandwich?

>>7412803
Is a Pizza also an open faced sandwich? Makes more sense than calling it a pie.
>>
>>7412844
Calling it a pie is wrong. I would say pizza is a flat bread. I wouldn't call it a sandwich. Also, you eat it in slices which is something you generally don't do with sandwiches.
>>
>>7412844
But of course!
The real question: is my pasta in a bread bowl a sandwich?
>>

If this was made out of cheese, would it be a bar of cheese?
A cake of cheese, or cheese cake?
>>
>>7412854
It'd be a block of cheese then

If pizza is a pie, and pizza ingredients in pastry are a pie, how about a whole pizza encrusted in pastry?
A pie pie?
A pizza pie?
>>
>>7412855
So why isn't the pic a block of soap?

>>7412842
Yes, UNLESS the bread in the middle is toasted, in which case it will be a toast sandwich
>>
>>7412855
It couldn't be.
Block: a large solid piece of hard material, especially rock, stone, or wood, typically with flat surfaces on each side.
If the cheese was mozzarella, that's not exactly hard.
>>
>>7412859
We in the UK love a bread sandwich
>>
>>7412859
So why is a loaf of sliced bread called a loaf of sliced bread when it's really a multiple layered bread sandwich?
>>
>>7412865
It should only be called a loaf when its one full piece. Once it's sliced it becomes a sandwich.
>>
>>7412800
>this thread again

Don't you have anything better to do than to meme around you fucking autist
>>
>>7412865
Its a uniform loaf, its not a sandwhich. Toast inbwtween is not uniform. Big macs have bread inbetween and theyre sandwhiches.

Gotcha!
>>
>>7412871
>>7412872
These aren't uniform.
They look uniform but each one is completely different.
>>
>>7412856
That's an actual pie. Hand pie is the the term.
>>
>>7412876
No, the one with a bunch of even slices has equal slices. The one with buttered toast is a very poor person's sandwhich.
>>
>>7412858
Would you ever eat a bar of anything? I think block is proper nomenclature for something edible.
>>
>>7412890
How about if I get 20 different types of bread, slice it up and stack it?
>>
>>7412859
I think this breaks what a sandwich is according to this >>7412897 logic.

You should have to have something not bread on a sandwich to make it a sandwich. It needs to be one (think open faced sandwich) or more slices of bread that includes something non-bread that also isn't a condiment.
>>
>>7412850
A sandwich is made with baked bread, a pizza is made with raw dough.
>>
>>7412901
sandwich
ˈsan(d)wJdʒ,-wJtʃ/Submit
noun
1.
an item of food consisting of two pieces of bread with a filling between them, eaten as a light meal.
"a ham sandwich"

Last time I checked, an ice-cream sandwich was between two layers and a subway sandwich was one subway roll
>>
>>7412902
That really does simplify the logic.
>>
>>7412904
*between two wafer layers
>>
>>7412850
>Doesnt slice his grilled cheese into triangles before eating.

Sounds like mommy didnt love you.
>>
>>7412904
I think the ice cream sandwich and subway sandwich fits this definition better.

>something resembling a sandwich; especially : composite structural material consisting of layers often of high-strength facings bonded to a low strength central core

It's not a traditional sandwich.

I love a pasta and meat and cheese sandwich.
>>
>>7412914
That's a casserole. You can say the ingredients are sandwiched though.
>>
>>7412894
a chocolate bar?
>>
>>7412904
So two pieces of bread on top of each other could be an air sandwich. thus still a sandwich.
>>
>>7412920
Damn. Now that I think about it doughnuts have the maple bar too.
>>
>>7412921
i kekked at this.
So why can't a single bread slice be an open faced air sandwich?
>>
>>7412920
Whats the main difference between a bar and a block of chocolate?
>>
>>7412894
i eat from the salad and dessert bar and Golden Corral.
I eat a cereal or protein bar.
>>
>>7412923
Open faced sandwiches are a sham and shouldn't even be considered sandwiches.
>>
>>7412924
bar tends to be for one person ie. smaller
a block tends to be for one fat person, or to share or eat over a length of time
>>
>>7412924
a bar is cast as a single unit? a block is meant to have smaller bits broken off it? kind of like cheese?
>>

>>7412927
Agreed.
This is NOT an open faced hundreds and thousands (Ausfag) or sprinkle sandwich.

But if you put another slice of bread on top...
>>
>>7412929
>tfw I have never experienced the joy of breaking pieces from a block of cheese
>>
>>7412850
>Also, you eat it in slices which is something you generally don't do with sandwiches.

u wot

everyone knows sandwiches taste better sliced
>>
>>7412933
That's not what I meant. I meant a pizza is to be shared.

Here's an open face pie-pie sandwich.
I'm going to try making this.
Aside a block of cheese, what else is missing?
>>
>>7412939
And a pizza is 5 x the size of a sandwich.
If I made a sandwich the size of a pizza, is that meant to be shared?
>inb4 most sandwiches are small
That's not the argument here.
>>
>>7412941
