>>7407826
heard that family. try this if you're management master race, ignore if you're an in-shop peasant.

french loaf. sub cut.
soak sauce into the bread. oregano if you desire.
rip up two portions provolone. you can use cheese scraps instead if your store sucks at audits.
add hot peppers to taste.
optional step: add any meat as you desire except the turkey because that shit sucks. try two portions of bacon. you'll need to toast it longer if it's two portions.
put in oven top rack for 7-10 minutes at 400F.
take it out and add lettuce or whatever else you want.

wrap your sub like an unwich and enjoy. a toasted grilled cheese french sub is god-tier and none of our customers or people in this thread will ever be allowed to have it. i'm not even allowed to use the oven like this as a PIC. forbidden fruits taste the best.

if you want to try it and don't work for jimmhu jamz, order a #13 veggie club, take the bread out, no mayo, no tomatoes, no cucumbers, no avocado, no lettuce, add sauce, add oregano, add hot peppers, add bacon (or any meat you want. it'll cost $2 more.) make sure they're putting sauce and oregano on the bread since you asked for no lettuce. (it's a corporate rule. these are drooling min-wagers making your food, so tell them.) toast sammich at home and add any amount of shredded lettuce if desired.

mini jimmy's are replacing party platters. individually wrapped half sammiches. party subs are also gone. cookie platters are being replaced by assorted cookie boxes. we'll be carrying bottles of coke instead of cans. looks like it's up to each store to carry bottled beverages for catering.

Bleach is a cleaning supply, the problem there is that they didn't dilute it and also suck dick at mopping.
>>
>>7410412

No, it's a disinfectant. It's lousy for actual cleaning purposes.
>>
>>7410415
Wrong, i've worked in kitchen before and my go-to product was bleached water. I almost never used the "mandatory" cleaning supplies because they were shit, when I quit because i found work for better pay closer to home, a few weeks after I left my boss called me and asked what I was doing to keep the kitchen floors clean and the grout white, when I said "diluted bleach" he thought I was lying, but did it anyway and found that the reason the floors in the kitchen were shit was because no one thought that floor cleaner was bad.

Don't get me wrong, bleach doesn't solve all the problems, but keeping flooring pearly white and clean enough to eat off of, bleach is the best thing in the world. The only other thing I used that did what bleach couldn't was this green fluid that cost $340 for 2 gallons. That shit worked fucking miracles. Let that shit soak floros that are caked in grease/oil, salt (form winter de-icing), or pure unadulterated dirt for 10 minutes and you will think god himself blessed your mop bucket.

Magic Erasers > Green Fluid > Bleach > WIndex
>>
>>7410432

Yeah, bleach oxidizes the pigments in mold, etc, rendering them white instead of whatever other color they happen to be. But it doesn't do a very good job of REMOVING soils, grease, oil, etc. compared to a product which contains surfactants.

Don't confuse bleaching (a color change process) with the removal of grime.
>>
>>7410439
>But it doesn't do a very good job of REMOVING soils, grease, oil, etc

You didn't read a single thing I said.

Unlike most of the part time employees, managers tend to get bonuses for all kinds of daily activities that they love to hide from the lower level employees
>>
>>7410467
Shady. This only increases my hatred of wagecucks and their masters.
>>
>>7410444

>>

i'm only stressed in my personal life. i can actually have fun at work. my job is my sanctuary. it's the best thing for me right now. i'll have other opportunities some day and showing that i climbed to a management position at my last job doesn't hurt.

>>7409625
actually i'm an hourly closing manager. i'm the only one in the store allowed to work over part time hours and the only one who can possibly receive overtime. therefore i often get paid more than the salary managers. the only duties i get that differ from in-shop is making bread and slicing. closing the store is not hard. i often get home feeling like i hung out with my friends all day.

it's not a very stressful job however the pay is not that great. i don't know what your idea of a "real job" is like, but being isolated in a silent office doesn't sound like a good time to me. nor does hard labor. i can't think of any kind of job that lets you have fun other than being in a band.

>>7409611
if you order through the online system it saves your orders.

>>7410467
they get bonuses at JJs too but it's based on how well they pass their audits. we often bomb them because of dumb things like dress code violations, late deliveries, out of range deliveries, etc. there's no point in any of us working off the clock.

>>7410512
bleach is fine for staining grout but i wouldn't consider it cleaned because it is stained. you cleaned it with cleaners then stained it.
>>
I think I'm the only person that orders their veggie sub. It's fantastic.
>>
>>7410674
i get people who order them with no avo no mayo no cheese.
>>
>>7410439

Has anyone ever tested this whole bleaching thing in a petri dish, because it sounds like complete and utter bullshit to me.

It might lack penetration, but I very much doubt mold spores can survive direct contact with bleach.
>>
>>7410671
>i don't know what your idea of a "real job" is like
let me help you, a real job:
>makes big boy money
>includes benefits and real healthcare not obongocare
>is considered a career(long term)
>can impress a girl because you have your shit together
>is not embarrassing to your family

I for instance do have a somewhat laborious job, it's part time, pays very well especially for my level of education, keeps me in shape, gets me pussy, has benefits, has opportunities to make more money, etc. I'm not rich but I dont have to deal with fat hungry people or clean bathrooms and I live a comfortable life from 25 hours a week.

It's a cheap sub place with less options than Subway, but the same low quality. Its main selling point is that they deliver. Useful if you forget to bring lunch to work and don't have time to go out.
>>
>>7407705
Publix is good, but it was nothing compared to Jimmy John's. Jersey Mike's is on about the same level, as well as Firehouse. Quizno's and some Zero's franchises are on par.
>>
>>7411387
Jimmy John's is:

Faster than subway
Doesn't smell like shit (like subway)
Delivers (unlike subway)
Better ingredients
And every Jimmy John's location I've visited has been 100% cleaner than any subway location.
>>
>>7411491
i can also explain why the bread at subway is so bland and tasteless because i also worked at subway before jj's. subgay uses bread molds. they get scraped sometimes but they're regularly washed and sanitized with detergents so they don't hold the taste of the bread. this also makes the taste of their bread change from store to store based on how clean the bread molds are. they don't really need them.

jj pans are scraped daily, they only use wax paper to separate them from the pans. we reuse the wax paper. bread is just stretched and placed on the paper, proofed and baked. if you're not dealing with old shitty or frozen bread sticks, they usually stretch straight and bake perfect. i recall in >>7409289 pic my bread was leftover from two shifts prior so it was somewhat proofed, all stuck together, and it got really difficult to stretch.
>>
>>7410412
>Bleach is a cleaning supply
bleach is for making cool crystals in your closet
>>
>>7411607
Hey, I just started working at JJs as a driver, what can I do/know that will impress or surprise my co-workers?
>>
>>7411643
honestly the most surprising thing at my store is when a driver actually wants to know how to make sandwiches so they can help out when it's busy. usually my drivers don't touch the line, only registers and phones.

stepping up and taking in-shop shifts when someone needs a cover really impresses managers.

if your store doesn't have the map function on your POS machines, type up a list of addresses for all the hotels and important locations in the delivery zone. include the phone numbers as well. this really helps out in-shops who come to work from out of town and don't know the area well. you can tape it to the back of your printed map.

the best tip i can give a new driver is be quick on your feet not on the street. jj's promise is fast delivery, so run to your locations if you have to. never speed. being quick impresses people as well as who you deliver to, and can get you bigger tips. so make sure the in-shops are noticing delivery tickets and making them fast and correctly. if they make them slow and wrong, they're messing with your money.

>>
>>7411272
The fact that he's moved into management makes his current job valuable on his resume. It shows future employers that he: A. Can be relied upon to show up on time and work autonomously. B. Can work with others, and especially at Jimmy John's- to manage a team. These are leadership skills and CANNOT be effectively taught except through experience.

So while you consider your somewhat laborious job that only allows you to work 25 hours a week, has unspecified "benefits" and annual raises a "real job" I would beg to differ.

You work part time doing manual labor and at 25 hours your employer isn't providing health insurance, so you're still on your parents plan. That's not a real job.

ok you stupid nigger let me clarify a few things, I only put my opinion out there because he had a cocky attitude about working at a fast food sandwich shop, I appreciate people with shit jobs because I do like to have a sandwich made for me occasionally, Ive also been in similar situations

secondly, I never said I am only allowed 25 hours, that is just an average work week if I do not feel like working extra shifts, I could work 80 hours next week and with the way overtime works for my "part time" I would be banking pretty hard, which occasionally I do.

Also you can assume all you want but I have full health/dental/prescription benefits, 401k yada yada, went to the dentist two weeks ago for a crown and it cost me $15 for the gas, the dentist says its some of the best insurance theyve seen.

Im also in a union, and not the lazy kind but the kind who makes sure you dont get fucked over so my job security is very nice. I've been there 9 years and the only reason I still do the laborious positions is because I like to stay active and enjoy a workout. Sorry if I offended or annoyed you because you are working in the food industry or working at a desk for 40 hours or more getting carpel tunnel and back problems trying to pay off your student loans.

>>7411686
Nah I don't have to, I worked in the food service business for 5+ years and I didn't deserve respect, it's a job for children, desperate people and people with no ambitions.

it's all i've got right now and it's honestly the best job i've ever worked at. i love my co-workers and how the company works. it's not a well-paying position but it's the best paying position in the joint and it gives me everything i need in life just by showing up.

you're not shitting on me that is actual good advice. i genuinely think i deserve to move up in life. i've had a hard time getting jobs and a hard life in general, but thanks to a good friend i have a job at a company i really respect, working for someone i really respect and i truly enjoy what i do and i'm always looking for ways to get better. i want my role in this place to reflect on my personality and land me an even better role in the future.

i wasn't trying to be cocky when i said management master race. master race was just a meme. management just means you call the shots, so you can use that oven to make a damned grilled cheese if you want to. being PIC is the best position in a jimmy john's because you have to be focused and challenged every single day, and you're not salary so you can't be fucked into working overtime without being paid for it. i'm actually glad i didn't go into salary when it was offered to me.

you may feel good by having a better job but it seems to me like you don't really understand why someone would enjoy having what you'd consider a bad job. it's all about circumstances, and mine are shit, but so long as i'm working, and i'm around people i love and i can feed myself, i'm a happy man.

You'd be surprised. Fast food tends to be challenging, but it's because you're constantly getting shit on and pressured to do more, and either have it done yesterday or do it with less than you did before. thank you friend. no offense taken. i've worked with and tried to adjust those kinds of people in my job as well, and have failed multiple times. i will only ever give 110% as that is what i believe is what is expected of me, and i only want to leave that impression onto others. some people will never get to that point until something seriously changes their belief system. before that happens i believe i can be someone of influence who can support such a change.

I'm glad you do your job but you should not be doing more than that.

for me it's not about maximizing profits but for setting customers' expectations. your number one priority should not be a maximum quantity of sales but the maximum amount of returned business by giving the highest quality of service you can give. that is what can be truly challenging. your managers might not give a shit if you're not talking up every single customer but they may be a bit bothered if you can't muster a single non-scripted word to even one.

the other big thing managers want is the best quality workers they can get who will strive to get work done so that other workers (or us) don't have to be doing it later. that is what companies really look for and want. those ate the kind of high quality workers they will keep and give raises to. the ones who just stand to collect paychecks don't ever move up, and we're always forced to be watching them for excuses to get them out of there. it's bullshit but we have to do it.
