If you were 50 and wanted new dinnerware what would you get. No price limit. I've been looking at Le Creuset but I read they chip easily. I want dishwasher safe.
I'd just go to Target or some place like that and pick a set of dinnerware that I liked, same as I did the last time I bought a set of dinnerware.

No price limit: my current desires are generally either Denby for something that is interesting, or just a straight up nice bone china.
>>7383743
But is the bone china dishwasher safe? I see some hotel shit on Macy's that looks good.
Cheapest I can find. Who give a shit what your dishware looks like?
>>7383538
is this a new meme?
>>7383767
correlle bruh, they're nigh on indestructible and have some nice patterns
>>7383538
I don't really like sets, If I had a bottomless dosh pit I'd go to a local hospotality supply place and pick out a range of plates bowls and shit that I like, about 10 of each, get some interesting colours and patterns.

My family had Denby growing up; bought a set for myself as soon as I graduated from college and moved into my own place.
Maybe it's just my familiarity with it but I still haven't found anything to match it. Durable enough to throw in the dishwasher and use everyday but still high quality. Would definitely recommend.
At that point I'll be retired with my own wood shop in a pole barn, so I'd turn a whole set on my lathe. But instead of waiting I'm starting that project in April, maybe may after the thunder storms start knocking trees down I can scavenge.
Spode - Blue Tea Room - $150 for 6 plates
Classy as shit
Am I alone in preferring simple white dinnerware?

Ugly! Sort of thing grandmas have over here in the UK.
Let crueset doesn't chip easily if you don't drop it. My mom's has worn slightly from 30 years of use and mine still looks like the day I bought it 5 years ago.
I haven't heard good things about their return policy though, do make sure you get a good unit.

I love Correlle. I've had mine for almost 10 years and they look as new as the day I got them. And you can drop them once or twice before they shatter.
>>7385275
this or a solid pastel green or red would be my choice. I don't even know where to find a color like that
>>7385624
Le Creuset I find fine for saucepans etc, but for actual cups and plates and stuff it's just ugly and clunky :/
>no square plates
>>7383538
Luminarc. Strong, light, dishwasher safe.
>be 50
>ask the channel of fours for advice
Maybe some 'over the hill' themed paper plates?
>>7386018
When a guest won't shut up, you can point to the plates and remind them you don't have much time left.
>>7386018
When EMS finds your cold body slumped over the dinner table with those plates, they'll chuckle and think you were clever.
I know this seems kind of weird, but go to yard sales and pick up dishes and stuff you need to complete a set. That's what I did and now I have a whole collection of different dishes. I think it's cooler that way.

When your dyslexic son comes over, he'll think you're a huge fan of 'King of the Hill'.
>>7386024
I'm going to go to OP's estate sale and buy his Le Creuset plates for 10 cents each.
>>7386018
Good idea, then he can invest in pharmaceuticals until the stock market tanks and he only has those plates and a leaky dick.

i only use clay work, and then i want my plates square!
so all mine plates are suitable for the oven and dishwasher without any problems.
i though prefer to hand wash my stuff
Denby sounds good - btw my gf back in 2007, thats the reason I am here. I'd retire if I could - got 1 mil to go.
my mom had these tupperware plates when i was growing up and i miss them. they were good for the microwave.

Any microwave safe plate is good for the microwave.
