How does /ck/ feel about "Fast Casual" ?
Is it just over priced fast food or bretty gud ?
It's pretty good. Shake Shack is overrated as fuck though.

What diners have good quality? I'm in NYC and diners are synonymous with unhealthy flavorless goo served on a plastic plate for $17.
Not that these are the only two choices, but I'd take shake shack over that any day of the week.
I eat at diners maybe 3-4 times a year as penance to remind myself of my sins.
I eat at shake shack maybe once a month.

A lot of it is overrated. I do like shake shack though, their cheese sauce is the perfect combination of shitty processed cheese flavor and sharp cheddar. Their shakes are nothing special.

shake shack is not exactly michelin-level but the ingredients are much better than in and out
the meat comes from pat lafrieda which is a regional butcher with fairly high standards. no prions or ammonia slurry unlike some places
