Easy, anon. The shitposting will come. You don't need to force it.

I'm aware that proper chilli shouldn't have beans but I don't really care. I like beans.

toast the peppers whole, peel and chop up alongside some re-hydrated dried chillies-I like smoky chipotle and ancho
lightly caramelise the onions like you would for a curry
toast and grind your own cumin, coriander seeds and cinnamon
use cubes of beef rolled in flour and some pork scraps or chorizo- extract some of that godly oil in the onion stage

if you feel like it roast/toast some tomatoes whole with the peppers until they are scorched and split open

whole dried oregano is a good herb
beans are great and soak up flavour/improve the economy of the dish. try pinto

good chilli is messy and takes a while to make and some less common ingredients but you can freeze a few litres alone or stuff some burritos to microwave for a good snack

I would eat what you cooked though, looks pretty good. especially as you are probably somewhere north and cold
>>
>>7381882
looks good. add some sort of hot peppers next time though
>>
>>7381782
>>7381791

Why didnt you brown the meat first, to build up some tasty crispy bits and a nice fond?

You essentially steamed the beef

I don't think this is the same anon I don't recognize this kitchen or cat. Nice thread either way OP.

OP here

This is the first thread like this I ever made so you are definitely confusing me with another anon.
However I'm glad you liked it and I will make another thread next time I'm cooking.
>>
>>7382033
Because a cat will go dig in a litter box then walk all over your cook and prep surfaces; shit's unsanitary.
>>
>>7381863
This. Where's the heat OP?

6/10

This is almost the same as how I do mine, but you left out a few key ingredients:

> Chocolate.
> Jalepenos.
> Cayenne.
> Dark beer.

You also didn't let it simmer for 3 hours--sacrilege.

You can actually see a bar of chocolate in the very first pic behind the bottle of oil

Not bad, OP, but like other anons said:

Brown the meat in a separate pan and drain the fat
Needs some heat
Should add more stock and simmer longer
>>
>>7383359
What do you think of Marek Hamsik
>>
>>7383351
No, but chili is definitely made better by a long simmer.
>>
beans
>>
>>7381794
Make your own beef stock. Store-bought stocks are usually pretty meh, but beef is by far the worst
>>
>>7383467

I don't really follow football.
Hockey's where it's at.

Will make this up tomorrow night, OP. What would you serve it with?
