Hats the best bourbon I can get for my buck? Nothing too expensive.
I'm pretty middle class. Don't want to spend too much on a bottle.
Pretentious expensive taste bourbon faggots need not apply

Also bourbon/whiskey thread I guess

[spoiler] I'm so fuckin hammered right now bruh.
>>
>bourbon
>not whiskey
anyway wild turkey 101's pretty decent
>>
>>7374390
I mean bourbon IS whiskey but yeah
Thanks for the suggestion man.
>>
Bulleit is fine stuff, and a good value when on sale at CVS ($19/5th).
>>
>>7374430
Yeah I've heard good things. Never really had it. I've only really had base level (Jim beam) or stuff I consider to be a little too high end for casual drinking (widow Jane, larceny, woodford)

Thanks
>>
knob creek is always good stuff, it just depends on what type of bourbon you like
>>
Old grand dad, all expressions are good but 114 is best.
>>
>>7374430
will second bulleit
i've heard good things about their rye, though i've also heard people say its only really good as a starter rye

A store near me has a large amount of Angel's Envy in stock. People are acting like it's a super hard to find and amazing bourbon but is that true? Is it worth the 40-50$?

Not bourbon.
>>
Eagle Rare, $30/750mL. Aged 10/years and is single barrel. Delicious, smooth with oaky and caramel undertones.
>>
>>7374448
Sure thing anon. If you liked Woodford, try buffalo trace. It has a little more bite, but not quite as spendy.

>>7374478
It's good, but not really distinctive as a "rye". Sometimes I get a bottle just to mix things up a little.
>>
>>7374658
Not OP. I want to buy a bottle but not sure if I should go with Buffalo Trace or Bulleit Rye. They are at similar price where I live.
>>
>>7374661
easy answer. Buffalo Trace.

Honestly, bang to buck ratio this with a couple ice cubes goes a long way.
>>
>>7374382
The market is saturated with decent bourbons/whiskeys and has been for a couple years now. MY favorite middle shelf/cheaper whiskey is Knob Creek. Super easy to drink. Blanton's is probably my favorite but that's like 60 bucks a bottle.
>>
>>7374673
By the way, Knob Creeks rye is pretty good too.
>>
>>7374382
1792 is pretty damn good
>>

Faggot
>>
woodford reserve is the best for drinking plain

bulleit is good too, but it's exceptionally fruity tasting for a bourbon
>>
>>7374579
>implying

Tennessee whiskey meets all the requirements of bourbon and is legally classified as bourbon.

Yeah, except for that whole thing about not being distilled in Bourbon county.

Fuck it, let's call Zipper-head whisky Scotch whisky, since it's basically the same thing, just in a different location.
>>
>>7374877
>not being distilled in Bourbon county

Which has literally nothing to do with making bourbon. The only geographic requirement for bourbon is that it is made in the United States. Git gud, son.
>>
>>7374877
lol what a fucking retard, can you google nothing? They make bourbon in many other states than kentucky.

There is literally one (1) active distillery in Bourbon County, and they only began operations in 2014.
>>
>>7374877

Hey asshole, it's Bourbon.
>>
>>7374478
Their rye didn't do it for me. I liked Old Overholt better, and that's like Babby's first rye-tier. Same thing with Dickel rye, which comes from the same distillery in Indiana-just didn't do anything for me. Both tasted like there was something missing from the flavor.
Anyway, I like 13th Colony rye a LOT. It's a newish independent brand out of Georgia so it may not have the distribution of ryes coming from the big boys (eg, Brown-Forman out of Frankfort KY, Beam out of Clermont KY, Evan Williams out of Bardstown KY, the ryes made in Indiana), but it's great.
>>
>>7374877
>except for that whole thing about not being distilled in Bourbon county.
...which doesn't matter, because US regulations only specify that it be made in America. Which is a good thing, because literally NONE of the famous big-boy bourbons you know and love are made in Bourbon County.

>Fuck it, let's call Zipper-head whisky Scotch whisky, since it's basically the same thing, just in a different location.

The really funny thing about what you just said is that Jap whisky puts most Scotches to shame.

>Not enjoying Whiskey (or any Spirit) in a variety of ways.
Drink it neat, drink it with a splash of water, drink on ice or chilled, drink it as a Manhattan or hell even a Whiskey Sour.

I can't stand you snobs who only want to ever drink something the exact same way every time. How boring.
>>
>>7374382
Woodford reserve
Roght price & great taste. You can sometimes even find it in pints if you just want to sample it
Basil Hayden is my personal favorite & only slightly more pricey. It's a bit sweeter
If I'm going all out I'll buy Blantons

On the other hand, we're also not faggots.

Eagle rare is pretty good but I think it's a little harsh. Not in terms of abv, just the notes I picked up while drinking. It was very leathery, spicy, and bold. If you like that kind of thing go for it, it certainly was not bad.

1792 is another pretty good one, it's smooth as hell and easy to drink.

Angel's envy is my friends favorite, I've only had it once but can't remember what it was like because I was so fucking hammered off of it. Must have been good.

Tried blantons and thought it was really overrated. The bottle was cool I guess.

Bulleit was really good both times I tried it. I think I had the standard rye and then a small batch with a green label.

Bourbon noob here, but getting into it more and more.

Distilleries don't care how you drink their stuff, as long as you keep doing it. You could drink it neat, drowned in Coke or even bake it into your waffles-they'll like you as a customer just the same.
