Stilton is overrated. There are so many great blues and Stilton is nothing compared to a lot of them.

Maytag, Rouge River, or Great Hill from the US are all better.

Saint Agur from France is better.

Valdeon from Spain is better.

These are just some cheeses I am currently offering at the place I work, that are all better than Stilton.

Maytag is very unique, it ha a very bright, citrus, lemon rind flavor which no other blue cheese has. I expect you haven't had the other two.

Great Hill is a top tier, artisan, extremely well rounded blue cheese made my people who are very passionate about it. It is the only cheese they make, and they invest A LOT of money into creating the best product they can.

Rouge River Blue is also very unique and flavorful, as is Caveman Blue by Rouge Creamery. I like to see cheese that does something interesting or new, and all of these qualify. Stilton is fine, but I would never choose it over anything else.

Also I just love the clear bias against US cheese.
