Nope
>>
I prefer aspartame.

This
I'm already type 1 so I don't drink sugar anyways.

>>7359698
I had a regular mountain dew the other day when I had a low blood sugar and I was in class, it was disgustingly sweet. I think that people who are accustomed to regular soda have really dulled their sweet sensitivity.
>>
its the main reason I am opposed to socialized medicine in the US, because with heart disease, strokes, diabetes, ranking among the top killers due to obesity I can not in good faith put money towards curing people of diseases that are entirely self inflicted because of their bad choices

55bpm HR
110/70 BP
haven't had so much as a cold in 3 years

master fucking race right here, I have zero medical expenses, why should I have to pay for some fat fuck who is making bad choices?

What about natural zero-calorie sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit?
>>
>>7359737
I cut out as much sugar as I possibly could for six months. I even cut out sweet tasting products that contained no sugar. I then took a swig of Dr Pepper and nearly vomited. I used to love eating eclairs but now they 100% unpalatable to me.

I'm the same way. Haven't drank soda in years and tried to take a sip of coke recently but it tasted fucking terrible, holy shit. I can't even fathom how I used to drink that shit or how anyone still goes through cans and cans of it a day.
>>
Wasn't aspartame pretty much deconfirmed to be bad for you?
>>
>>7359698
You should be eating no added sugar at all, up to two pieces of fruit a day, and only be consuming full fat dairy or things like quark/cottage cheese
Sugar is literally the worst thing ever

A diabetic who dies at 60 probably costs less in the long run than providing 24 hour nursing care for a 90 year old loony.
>>

At least link me a credible peer reviewed source.
>>
>>7359739
>why should I have to pay for some fat fuck who is making bad choices?

You shouldn't.

None of us should.

The problem is that there's countless numbers of free-loading shitbags that are more than willing to allow the government to take YOUR fucking money to fund THEIR healthcare....and housing....and education....and food....and clothing...and kids....
>>
>>7359791
but that's impossible, because there is no credible peer reviewed source that says aspartame is bad for you
>>
>>7359788
I believe care for the elderly is the responsibility of their family, if they don't have family then they should have plenty of money stowed away
if they don't have family and still couldn't managed to put money away then why help someone that was so lazy their entire life?
>>
>>7359698
Absolutely. It's the last thing society is willing to admit is a primary cause of cancer, since it makes us feel so good.
>>
I cannot stand soda anymore after I stopped drinking it in middle school. I eat about 70 grams of sugar a day but almost all of that is from bananas and milk. I don't eat added sugar except for when I will bake something, but that's still rare.
>>
>>7359807
Coming from a libertarian, shit happens man. Not everyone who is poor is poor exclusively because of their own choices. Wasteful government spending should be cut before we cut a single dollar in social benefits, such as our military, and subsidizing huge industries that fuck with existing markets.

retarded, I know, but the only thing I could think of, since the sodas have different sizes as well

I don't really drink any soda.
I put a tiny bit of sugar in my tea.
But I do eat a lot of candy.
>>
>>7359739
I'd be okay with a single payer system but it would require individual assessment of health thay directly correlates with cost into the system.

Course this pretty much means that fatties will get super mad, but it also fucks people with actual incontrollable conditions to health to pay as well.
>>
>>7359907
Eating them?
>>
>>7359739
Counter argument, they already cost a shit ton anyway (we can't turn away ER visitors, and if they can't pay we absorb the cost).

Short term it might cost more, but regular affordable doctors visits to get people to manage their health might save money long term.

Medicine is expensive when you are late in the game, preventative care and medical council/diagnostic tests are cheap.
>>
>>7359698
No. I don't drink any soft drinks, and I'm not big on fruit.
>>
>>7359698
Yes. Especially because most "healthy" carbohydrates also convert to sugar.
>>
>>7359762
I cut out sugar completely cold turkey and didn't touch it for 2 months. None in sauce or bread or anything. It was surprisingly easy after like 1 week. One day I just figured I eat something shitty...I literally couldn't stop eating sugary foods for like 2 weeks after that. It was like I was actually addicted. Craziest experience I've had. I had dropped almost 30 pounds without sugar and gained it back pretty instantly.
>>
>>7360895
Really? You didn't retch the first time, at least? It took me nearly a year before I could stomach diet cola. I still can't eat donuts, cake, candy bars, etc.

I gained my weight back drinking beer though. I might be in a worse condition than you. You're probably the smart one going back to eating sweets.
>>
>>7360911
Alcohol and sugar are basically the same, health wise.
They're both metabolized by the same process in the first place.
>>
>>7359698
>Too much
Yeah, more than we would probably get in a diet where we are only "natural/whole/fucking whatever Buzz word" food.

Honestly though, people just consume a ton because they don't know dick about nutrition or sometimes give a shit about it, and just like to indulge because they've been told they can and should.
>>
Fruits have a lot of sugar, but processed sugar is different from natrually occuring sugars.

Generally you can eat as much fruit as you want and feel fine, but once you get to the HFCS, you're going to turn into a fat piece of shit quick.
>>
I quit sugar (processed anyway) cold turkey, particularly soda and sweets and I had serious withdrawal symptoms, including headaches and feeling depressed.
I gorged myself on raw fruits but it just never hit the 'spot' and I was a mess for about a week. After that though, I felt happier, more energetic and my skin problems reduced greatly.

This. People should definitely learn the difference.

well there's your problem
>>
>>7360958
>cold turkey

Yeah, that's usually never a good way to go. I think everyone should always consult a doctor to form a plan that would help them gradually wean off sugar.
>>
>>7362510
Whats the difference between fructose in fruit and fructose?
>>
>>7362546
Not those people, but the difference is that fruits come with fiber which slows down the passage of the sugar through the stomach into the small intestine and subsequent absorption, thereby lowering the maximum blood sugar level reached. Also, fruits tend to have adequate amounts of micronutrients, whereas products with added sugars (such as sugar drinks) often have no nutritional value whatsoever.
Of course between vegetables and fruits, vegetables tend to be healthier in some sense, but fruits are still a better choice than Mountain Dew.

>>
>>7362564
I never got this argument. Surely if I eat a slice of cake alongside a meal containing fiber and micros I could say the same thing.
Personally I eat fruit as a treat instead of desert
>>
Yes, it's fucking poison (quite literally in the case of Fructose).

Eating sugar with any regularity is a bad idea, even more so if you're not consuming it with a decent amount of fibre (i.e. as fruit).

>There are people ITT that eat 60g+ of sugar a day, just in drinks

fucking kek.
>>
I dont understand how Americans can solely blame obesity on sugar but ignore protein/saturated fats

They even force feed chickens with special protein blends to swell up into balloons.
>>

>>
>>7359887
I don't think that's how it works
>>
>>7359739
You stupid fuck. Its like you don't understand that its a circular system.

We cant stop companies from selling literally poison to stupid people. eg. Fast food, soda
The point is that they are suppose to go to the hospital for the last half of their life and pay thousands and thousands.

If you think your taxes goes towards paying any of it, then you know literally nothing about american economics.
>>
>>7359801
Keep that false rhetoric going on a board about food republicuck. Money is made out of thin air by the american gov. every day, your taxes go back in to an imaginary cycle that only serves to make your life more difficult.
>>
>>7362546

fruit is a mix of fructose and sucrose. your liver turns fructose into glucose, and must do so. fruitarians are idiots by the way, they're going to get nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. sugar is poison... its all the same; fructose, dextrose, sucrose, glucose whatever they call it. it all rots your teeth and gives you diabetes.

But isn't dessert a treat? Or is it a regularity in your household?

This sugar argument is stupid. This is now a fruit thread (no homo). What are your favorite fruits anons? One of my favorite snacks is a slightly overripe mango cut up with the skin still on it, and a small dash of sea salt.
>>
>>7359698
This looks like a loss edit
>>
>>7365782
Dessert is a treat, and fruit is my dessert
Mangoes and bananas are the best tasting fruit in my opinion, but I prefer tart crisp Apples because of the texture and how filling they are. Grapefruits are probably the healthiest fruit and the one I eat most often
