Why is Wild Turkey 101 so gross? Yeah it's stronger than ordinary whiskey but that shit tastes like medicine.

What are some good whiskeys that aren't too expensive?
>>
Looking for bourbon?
When I go cheap I usually go Canadian. As far bourbon I honestly really have no problems with shit like Jim beam.
>>
>>7344329
I don't really mind what type of whiskey. I usually drink vodka anyway. I just hate shelling out a little more money to try some whiskey only to have it not be very good. I was wondering if there was any under the radar whiskeys that are good for the price

And yeah Jim Beam is alright for the price.
Thanks for posting
>>
>>7344319
It's actually pretty good, but if you want a solid bourbon for a decent price try buffalo trace. I use to legitimately recommend old crow reserve, but I don't think it's being made anymore. At least it's not distributed currently
>>
>>7344319
For really cheap bourbon, I recommend W.L.Weller or Old Graddad if you can find them, otherwise go for Buffalo Trace which seems to be everywhere.
>>
evan williams and early times are good but they make you pee doo doo water out of your pooty hole the next day lmao :D

Fuck yeah on the Wellers.
>>

>early times

This. If I'm in the mood for bourbon and want to be cheap, Early Times is a go to. It's ridiculously cheap and just as good as more popular middle-shelf stuff like Jim Beam.

If you're not limiting yourself to bourbon, OP, you might want to track down some Old Overholt. It's a pretty good introduction to rye, and is usually cheap.
>>
You just don't like rye-heavy bourbons. I do. WT101 is one of my absolute favorites.

If you hate the Turkey, you'll probably want to try Maker's Mark, W.L. Weller, and Pappy Van Winkle. If you don't like those, then you simply don't like American whiskey, and get the fuck out of my country.

I love wild turkey. It's like the coke of whiskey. It's got its own distinct taste that its competitors just can't match, and has its fans.

Though tonight I'm drinking Burnside bourbon. Out of Portland, Or. Much smoother than WT, and I would recommend.

I like Wild Turkey 101 with a couple of ice cubes. Slosh them around and sip on the watered down whiskey. It works just fine.
>>
>>7345268
I can actually. Just not when the spices added to it taste like shit.

50% vodka has been my jam since I was 16

Just wait a few years until your palate matures, you sound like a complete cock smoker
>>
>>7345933
Just because I don't like a certain whiskey it means my palate isn't mature? Do I have to like all whiskeys?
>>
>>7346089
No you dont, but you also dont need to start pissy little threads about how "gross" something is.
Have you had your cootie shots this season yet?
>>
>>7345315
>I've been drinking 100 proof since I was 16 ;)
You're really cool.
>>
>>7346117
Thanks man. I'm glad you think so. Alcoholoism is pretty cool, especially when someone else validates it for me

>>7346114
Next time I'll check in with you about what I "need" to post before I start a thread. Is that better?

How old are you? I'm going to guess maybe 21. Are you into bukowski?

Because how old you are determines if you're an alcoholic or not right? Are you going to tell me some horror stories and show me what a real alcoholic goes through without knowing anything about my situation or what I've been through? I'm 22 so you were pretty close. Can't say that I'm into Bukowski
>>
>>7346142
No I'm just going to tell you that 90% of 22 year olds are you. You're not an alcoholic, you're a bored 22 year old. I was drunk every day for alost 2 years after I turned 21 because I didn't realize that I needed to do something else with my life. You can either grow up, or stick in your ways. It's really up to you.
I also come from a family of alcoholics so that's a poor excuse in my eyes.

Dont want to start a new thread, and maybe we can turn this around?

can this be a alcohol reccomendations thread?

My local supermarket is having 25%off on every hard liquor this weekend, and I think of grabbing a bottle or two, But I dont have anything I really currently NEED, so I'm down for suggestions. I guess something that I can drink neat, but that also would make for an easy mixer (think gin-tonic) would be nice.

what I have got so far already is a bottle of scotch (Speyside), bourbon (that nasty "premium" jim bean shit), Gin (some fairly good, local hipster brand) and vodka. Thinking of giving tequila another try, but I am afraid that I will only get shit like Sierra in Europe.
>>
>>7346155
I have been able to cut back because I've felt the effect alcohol has had on my mind and body and I've only been drinking for about 7 years, sometimes more than others and I don't want it to get worse. I also have the example of my mom's side of the family to look at to show me the things that can happen if I keep drinking the way I have before. Totalling cars, stomach problems, life ruining decisions. I understand that a lot of kids can claim to be an alcoholic just to be edgy or justify their drinking or whatever but I'm past that point. I honestly wish that I could stop drinking entirely but I don't think that will happen to be honest. Thanks for the advice though, honestly
>>
>>7345627
Wow, you are "literally" retarded. Stop posting.
>>
>>7346259
