That's avocado dip, guacamole as you said to the funny guy, is a sauce. Hence guacamole is an avocado sauce with garlic, scallions, cilantro and either jalapeño or serrano chiles.

I don't know about mayo but I will sometimes put sour cream in my guacamole if I'm making tacos for myself because I would be adding both regardless. I wouldn't do it if I were cooking for others or not planning on eating it all within a couple days. It's just to avoid having to wash several spoons, not really necessary

My favorite guacamole doesn't have avocado in it. It's more like a layer of dough with tinned tomato sauce (Hunt's brand) and a mess of shredded mozzarella cheese (part skim). Rather than mixing it up together and eating with chips, I like to bake my guacamole in the oven as high as it will go for about 15 minutes

The only time I've ever heard of mayo in guacamole is if avocado is to "exotic" for them so they mashed up a can of peas instead because they're old but still want to try new things but not too new because old.
I also refused to eat it and asked why they would ever do something so disgusting, and I'm whiter than paper.
