>Self-made restaurant business starting literally with nothing
>Self-taught BBQ novice turned pitmaster judge
>Now regarded as greatest BBQ joint on earth
>Resistant to anything but authentic post oak wood fired, salt/pepper rubbed brisket
>Gives away every secret in cookbook and PBS series
>Absolutely refuses to franchise
>Ridiculously friendly and down to earth

Is he not the greatest /ck/-related person ever?

If not then for God's sake who is?

So much dandruff. I'm not touching anything that guy makes unless he wears like five hairnets.

"Nothing" in a physical and financial sense.

But everything in terms of worth ethic, intelligence and personality.

He ate at some guys bbq place a lot. One day he asked for a job. Wala.

Honestly when I first saw the show I thought he was going to be a giant tool just based off looks but it turned out he was a pretty cool guy. Like the kind you want to go grab a few beers with and get to know.

I saw his place a few times on different food related series and even some stupid credit card commercial before I even saw his public access show. I had no idea the guy was actually charismatic. He seems like a cool dude.

Cool guy, but he needs to ditch those fucking hipster glasses.

Also thought it was neat that he built his own pits from old propane tanks.

hipster garbage

He doesn't give away every secret. His book is pretty much 'how to get the similar results in your cheap smoker'. His place runs brisket at 300+ degrees which is more of a hot/fast approach due to demands.
