chicken alfredo
(optional): cook a few strips of bacon
cube and saute a chicken breast
a few minutes before it's done, add alfredo sauce (i'm partial to Ragu garlic alfredo, doctor it up with Parmesan cheese and garlic powder, or you can make your own from scratch if you want)
chop bacon and toss it in if you have it
serve on your choice of pasta
i normally make steamed broccoli with butter and lemon juice as a side
takes about 20 minutes to make

Carbonara:
Fry/bake some bacon lardons/pieces.
Boil pasta (rigatoni or shells are nice).
Make sauce: single cream, one large egg, parsley and parmesan cheese whisked together.
Drain pasta, put bacon (with some of the fat) into the pasta pot, add the sauce and mix well.
Plate & garnish.
