Whenever we had leftover pasta sitting in the fridge, my grandma would throw it in a pan with a bit of olive oil and pan fry it. It was fucking amazing every time and I still do it.

When I get down to the bottom of a bag of chips i always get the scissors and cut off all the excess bag, leaving only the bottom few inches so that the crumbs and smaller pieces are easier to get at. I do it because my dad always did it

When the chips run low, instead of trying to pinch handfuls of crumbs from the bottom of the bag i use them to bread chicken or fish, or use them in meatballs instead of breadcrumbs. Can you tell that my grandparents were dirt poor even before the depression?
Always make gravy from left over fat and pan drippings. Especially when you deglaze shit in the pan, just add butter and make a rue then add flour. We always had gravy in some shape or form in the house.

That's the whole point of cutting the bag. The other point of cutting it is to avoid dirtying a bowl. When the bag is full, no bowl necessary as the chips are near the top. When it's getting closer to the bottom and you know you're going to finish the bag you cut it to make a makeshift bowl. Also makes it easier to dump the last crumbs into your mouth.
