I want to cook a meal for my girlfriend
First of all i want to start by saying. I dont cook. Hardly ever. so you are going to have to approach this as if i have never cooked before
Im looking for an easy and cheap (poor college fag) yet impressive meal/recipe to make for me and her. We're not huge eaters so it doesn't have to be extremely filling

2. Brine them in 1/2 cup of kosher salt and 1/2 cup sugar for 30 minutes
3. Oven to 350F
4. Bake chicken breasts (discard the brine first)
5. Get some lettuce (not iceberg)
6. Make a salad
7. Artfully shred the chicken

9. Feed girlfriend

Chicken a la king
Get a package of pic related
1/2lb chicken
1 can peas and carrots
milk/butter
Cut the chicken into pieces about the size of half your thumb. In a large pot, cook the chicken until it's finished. Remove and set aside. Add milk instead of water to the pan as per the instructions on the package. Cook the rice as instructed otherwise. When that's done, add the chicken back, drain the can of peas and carrots and add. Heat until everything is uniform in temperature and you're done.
Only one pot to clean and it's really tasty. Also super cheap.

Cooking is a very practice-makes-perfect type of skill. Anytime you cook something new it's not going to be as good as the next time you make it.
