What do you think of this pizza, /ck/?
I wouldn't usually start one of these threads, but I've been day drinking for a few weeks now and have gotten cravings for shitty pizza.
The gf has been getting pregnancy/baby catalogs/magazines for almost two years now, and when we recently moved she was sent a, "congratulations on the baby, here's a 1 year Sam's Club subscription" card. She's never been pregnant, if that wasn't clear.
So I bought the cheapest 4/$10, plain, frozen pepperoni pizza they had.
>also tried their food court pizza and hot dog and it's just about the cheapest day drinking food you can find
Anyhow, I added thin sliced tomato, black olives, anchovies, and grated some parmesan on top.
>>7135002
I can't remember the name of the brand, but it was cheaper than Red Baron, though pretty similar in quality.
My one mistake was trying to use half a can of anchovies without thinking about evenly distributing them when cut.
Anyways, pretty fucking delicious, cheap frozen pizza.
Goes well with bottom shelf vodka first thing in the morning.
Could use some oregano.
>>7135002
Looks better than all the chain pizza that's constantly posted.
Nice it has anchovies I like it very much.
It might just be jizzed up frozen pizza, but it's ridiculous that the Sbarro thread got 4 times more replies than this.
>>7135854
There's a Sbarro thread??!!?
>>7135002
It's literally almost perfect! The only change I would make is to use 6 anchovies and tomato slices (ignoring the one in the center) so that it can be cut into six even wedges. This looks like it would make five good wedges but six would be easier to cut.
I really like how the ingredients are symmetrically spaced out and it appears to be cooked just right (not over or under).
9/10 would take a photo before eating.

>>7135931
Man, I've been wanting to make one of those ever since anon made a thread about making a shitty one a month or so ago.
Definitely need a fuck ton of caramelized onions to balance out all the saltiness.
>>7135002

Nothing like leftover pizza right out of the fridge first thing in the morning.
>>7135900
>it's literally almost perfect
Thanks anon.
All else being equal, it's still a cheap frozen pizza at the bottom of everything.
That said, I thought it was worth posting with the non-stop fast food, dorm food, and ten cent ramen hack threads. For an extra couple of minutes and around a dollar's worth of extra ingredients I turned a $2.50 frozen pizza into something better than any big chain pizza I can think of ever having.
>>7135931
>pissaladiere
I've been watching youtube videos of people making those while eating my leftovers, and will definitely be making one of those soon (and will make a thread).
I love anchovies, and one of my favorite things is anchoïade. Put a can of (drained) anchovies into around a third of a cup (can't remember the exact amount, but you can obviously adjust for the consistency you want) olive oil, with a couple finely diced garlic cloves, and set over low heat until the anchovies dissolve. Let cool and serve with vegetables/bread. It's basically just like a tapenade, but with anchovies.
>>7137040
I decided to have the last couple of slices with some week old fruit salad and another mug of morning vodka.
If I don't fall back asleep I'll make another one to snack on during the weekend.
Round Two budget pizza incoming.
This time we start with a medium white onion and a couple cloves of garlic.
Start caramelizing your onion, mince the garlic, cut your tomato slices and get your pizza out of the freezer.
When your onions are almost done stir in the garlic.
I don't get it. What's the appeal of anchovies?
>>7138306
salty and very savory
>>7138306
I'd compare the appeal to that of something like caviar or foie gras, except that anyone can afford them.
Distribute onion and garlic mixture on top of still frozen pizza. You could probably have used twice as much onion.
This time we're adding a layer of baby spinach.
>>7135002
this looks absolutely awful
is that water or grease?
did you salt the tomatoes to draw out water before adding them, or did you just drop them on it?
>>7138306

Evenly distribute 6 anchovies and 6 slices of tomato, with one in the middle.

>>7138396

but can't stand black olives man, it feels like a cruel joke
>>7135002
ur full of shit desu
Add sliced black olives, some jalapenos to one half, and grate on some parmesan.
While it's baking pull a potato out of the fridge and top with mayo and aardvark sauce, garnish with olives and pickles as a snack to tide you over.
Let her rest before slicing so as to allow the juices to be re-absorbed.
>>7135002
Those things on that pizza look like eyeballs, like it's some Cthulhu spawn looking at you "from beyond."
>>7135002
The fuck is up with your girlfriend?
I would be very unsettled if my gf was crazy into having kids, even if I'd known her for two + years.
But I'm opposed to having kids at 19, so there's that. I guess if you don't mind, there's no harm/no foul.
I'd still get your car inspected; she might be ripping unborn children out of the wombs of their slain mothers and then leaving them at firestations or something.
>>7135002
I didn't know syphilis was a pizza topping.
When cooled down a bit, cut into 6 evenly distributed slices, put on a plate, cover with foil and place in the fridge.
Now we have something to snack on over the weekend while spending minimal time outside the bedroom.
>>7139723
>end up getting morning drunk and eating the entire pizza for breakfast

>>7138840
What are you baking the pizza on?

>>7135002

>>7135002
So OP, what pushes someone to start day-drinking? Is it an addiction, or just a decision that alcohol in the morning sounds good?
I'm feeling some whiskey with my jazz right now but it's 5PM here
>>7139723
is this still frozen shit pizza reinvigorated with additional toppings?
>>7141056
>it's neat how you can clearly tell the difference in quality between the ingredients used
The best part of it is that all the ingredients were super cheap. I was thinking of costing it out to show how the entire pizza cost about as much as a single slice of Sbarro (I've only had it once or twice, and it was pretty terrible), while being far superior.
I think anons should take every opportunity to show how eating cheap doesn't have to mean eating ramen and fast food, even if you're not capable of making pizza from scratch.
The brand of pizza I bought (first time trying it) shares the same name as a youtube personality that's been shitting up /ck/ for the past few months; you should be able to guess. It would be pretty bad on its own, but it has a thin crust, which just hast a little crispness to it when cooked, making it really good to cover with extra toppings.
It's better to keep drinking shit to al/ck/ threads, though I rarely post in them since someone decided to start calling them "generals". Suffice to say I used to wait till 5 and drink something nice while listening to/watching something nice; now it's an addiction that costs too much to make nice.
>>7141083
>is this still frozen shit pizza reinvigorated with additional toppings
Yes.
I was planning on making a third pizza earlier, but got lazy. If I did roughly the same thing to the 4 pack of pizzas it would cost around $15 total, with half a pizza making a decent meal for me.
OP, are you an alcoholic or something?
>>7141447
this, any anon who doesn't know of pages like BudgetBytes is really missing out. That one is just one example, I eat well from that pretty consistently.
I hope that you can learn to manage your addiction better soon OP.

It's not that glamorous.
Apparently today I'm supposed to leave the room to make a couple hundred pierogies to bring to holiday shit.
Because I didn't make myself another pizza that means I had to throw some shit together for breakfast to get myself moving (and take a fucking shower...).
So yeah, starting the day with peanut butter bread, avocado, cottage cheese and vodka.

If I get the chance I'll take pictures of pierogies.
>>7143211
Forgot to mention, someone will be bringing a few bottles of pic related to holiday shit, so I need to put in a little effort on my part.
>>7142796
4-pack, huh. that's not horrible.
Guess I'll turn to this if I ever need some cheap-ass pizza. Thanks mate.
>>7143262
Jack's or Red Baron is pretty much the only frozen pizza I'll buy these days.
Anything cheaper (Totino's, Celeste, etc.) and you might as well microwave a piece of cardboard and cover it in your favorite hot sauce. Anything more expensive and you might as well order in.
>>7138324

>>7144749
Try hanging out at the brunch spot I go to. It's a traffic jam of designer strollers and yoga mommies with their kids being pacified with ipads. There's this one yoga mommie who apparently wants to raise her baby "properly" but it screams bloody murder when it can't play with her phone, so in order to finish brunch she has to give it her phone otherwise the entire restaurant has to hear the shrieking and any monster who isn't glued to a pacification device starts to shriek too.
We're in for some serious trouble when these kids grow up. It's like how leaded gas caused a delayed effect with the 80s crime wave when those fucked up babies were finally old enough to hold a gun. I sincerely believe all births after the early 2000s are a lost cause and should be euthanized for the safety of future generations. It may sound harsh but what's even harsher is when society is going to have to support these little monsters. Press the reset button and let's start over please.
>>7144786
Man, I've stopped even trying to go to brunch in the past few years, mostly because I don't think anything is worth waiting in line for more than 10-15 minutes.
I can't even imagine waiting to eat my first meal of the day and then having fucking kids screaming all around me.
OP reporting back in with my breakfast sandwich.
Mayo, sriracha, baby spinach, cancer ham, tomato, b&b pickles, avocado - tomatoes got pepper, avocado got salt - on lightly toasted 16 grain bread with black berries and pimento stuffed olives.
>mug of vodka not pictured
And yes, I'd rather bump my own thread with OC than start a new thread every time I throw some shit on a plate, like some other anons (I'm also more of a corner booth type anon, if that ever comes up).

It was overall a bit too busy with all the different ingredients, but the coleslaw mix wasn't bad.
It was basically just some filler that added a bit of texture, and stood up to all the big, salty ingredients.
Overall there were too many wet things, but once it cooled a little the crust crisped up a bit and it wasn't soggy.
I've been making homemade pizzas for almost 2 years now but I still feel the dough/crust could use some improvements. How do I make the perfect pizza dough and how do I get the perfect crust?

It looks like the consensus is that putting the anchovies on before baking is the way to go.
Regardless, I'm going to try the, "dip your cold, leftover pizza directly into the can of anchovies" option.
>>7144786
>We're in for some serious trouble when these kids grow up.
I swore to myself I would never become this person. It's like, do you hear yourself when you talk? You've completely lost your self-awareness. You have unironically become your parents. Everyone's parents. For god's sake, people have been saying this about children since PLATO. Wake up, dude.

Finishing up the last of the 4 pack of shitty, frozen pepperoni pizza.
Going back to simplicity, with mushroom, tomato, olives, and the last bit of anchovy.
>>7153969
One mushroom turned out to be plenty for one pizza.
>>7153990
This time we're just at first adding the little bit of sliced tomato, the last bit of black olives, and the one sliced button mushroom, topped with a shit ton of parmesan and some crushed pepper flakes.
>>7135002
Made my own.
>>7154017
So the idea this time was to try out the results of the anchovy poll, but putting the anchovies on before baking was in the lead, so I thought I'd just try the other three options.
Take out the pizza around 3 minutes before it's done and add anchovies to one half (we're doing 8 slices).
>>7154022
Huh, your camera is just as shitty as mine.
I have to admit, there's nothing like having your cheese being the top layer, getting slightly browned and all gooey.
Did you bake that in a throwaway pie dish? (Or is that actually some kind of quiche made in a frozen pie crust?)
>>7154022
Wrong pic - here is the pizza
>>7154045
When the pizza is done we're going to try adding one anchovy directly onto the pizza, hot out of the oven.
It's a bad picture, but the uncooked anchovy is at 11 o'clock.
>>7154047
That looks good, anon. Could use some anchovies, though.
I usually make homemade pizza, but have been drinking a lot lately so thought I'd do some super easy shit and posting it.
Next time I'm going to try a NYC style pizza, which I've never done before. I want giant slices I can fold in half, but am limited to a smallish oven and having my pizza stone currently in storage somewhere. And for some reason every youtube video about making NY style pizza begins with the dough already made, for some reason.
Am I the only one for whom the site was just down?
>>7154118
Slice the pizza so that anchovies are evenly distributed.
It's a bit heavy on the olives, but I wanted to use up the rest. (50 cent can from TJ's made it across all four pizzas.)
>Black olives
>not the superior green olives
>>7154208
olives on pizza rules, fuck the haters.
>>7154208
Consume with mug vodka.
>>7154564
Close up shot.
It's pretty much impossible to tell, because of shitty camera, but the slice on the right got the anchovy 3-4 minutes before coming out of the oven, while the one on the left got the anchovy when it was done cooking, but still hot.
>>7154770
Looks cold.
>>7154770
>passed out before i remembered to give my opinion on when it's best to add anchovies to your pizza
Despite the blurry pictures, the anchovies that got a few minutes in the oven looked almost exactly the same as the ones put on when it was taken out. (>>7154781 That's about 10 minutes out of the oven, so it wasn't pipping hot, but the anchovies had a chance to melt in.)
Despite appearances, there was quite a bit of difference between the two, and miles between these and the slices where the anchovies were added before baking the pizza.
Both of these had a sharper flavor, and a much more stand-out texture (though people who are turned off by little hairy fish might not like that as much). There was even a noticeable difference between these two slices, in both taste and texture, if even just a slightly.
At this point I'm going to say adding your anchovies to your pizza right when it comes out of the oven is the clear winner, with adding them a few minutes before it's done a close second.
Later today I'm going to try dipping my cold pizza into the cold tin of anchovies... but I'm guessing it's not going to quite measure up.
Early morning breakfast.
Having pizza and vodka for every meal is coming to an end. Going to need to find something else to eat soon.
>anons keep saying anchovies are too overpowering
>anons keep saying sardines are superior
Am I the only one who can only eat sardines with nothing more than bread/crackers and hot sauce, and usually only when drunk?
Every time I've tried adding sardines to a dish it was overpowered with what I think of when people talk about "fishiness", whereas anchovies aren't fishy, but add a really deep, salty flavor that actually compliments many things, used in moderation.

>>7159773
>evenly distribute 6 anchovies and 6 slices of tomato, with one in the middle
It's the 6 anchovies and 6 slices of tomato that are being evenly distributed.
The extra clause, "with one in the middle" implies that the 6 anchovies and 6 tomato slices are being evenly distributed around the outside, and hence that the one in the middle is an extra slice, not included in the initial 6.
