I could go on but the point is that not everything that was once a necessary life skill is still necessary anymore.
We have doctors, chefs, seamstresses, homebuilders etc for a reason. Humans as a species needed to diversify to survive, not everyone can do all of these things, hence specialization which lead to currency as a means for exchanging services.
TLDR: It's okay to spend your money on food someone else has prepared, just like it's okay to spend money at a doctor's office, they have a skill you don't.
