Italian food is noob tier food. Anybody can fucking make italian food and it doesn't require technical precision to make it taste good. It's mainly meat, cheese tomatoes, cream, or crabs. Throw in some good tasting herbs like basil and oregano, use olive oil. Even their desserts are just rich cream filled stuff. It doesn't take a pro to make good tasting ingredients taste good. In comparison to cuisine like Asian fare where they take ingredients that you wouldn't except to be good and turn it into something amazing (ie, wasabi root, fish sauce etc)

The prep work for these isn't nearly as difficult as some dim sum recipes and the ingredients are pretty much what I stated, carbs, tomatoes, cream. And most of that video was making dough and forming it into shapes. That ain't hard, anyone who can make stuff with clay or play dough can form stuff with dough.

It's so easy that I live in the city with the largest Italian immigrant community outside of Italy and there are at best 5 Italian restaurants in the city that aren't mediocre North Americanized garbage.

Those few places are too fucking die for because it so goddamn hard to make good Italian food in North America with the lacklustre ingredients you are stuck with. Most of you Amerifat motherfuckers have no idea what tomatoes are supposed to taste like, much less fior di latte, any other fruits and vegetables, seafood (black mussels in North America are fucking disgusting), fish, etc. God, don't even get me started on the figs!

Basically, because most Italian food is based on spectacularly fresh and flavourful ingredients, most dishes are very simple to not obscure their quality and flavour. The problem then becomes trying to re-create that subtlety of flavour with tasteless factory farmed versions of all the ingredients. The few really good places I know have to resort to importing a shit ton of ingredients at great expense to do it.

Yes, a lot of Italian food is simple stuff. That's because it was simple food invented by plebs based on the avaibility of stuff that was in season.
The key to most italian dishes is to use GOOD ingredients, and knowing how to combine them.

Besides, italian cuisine does have some things that are difficult to make. I would not eat fish cooked by a pleb, or fried by a pleb. Meringhe are quite difficult and besciamella can also prove threacherous to the non initiated. Even simple dessert stuff like crema pasticciera can prove easy to fuck up.

In the future please refrain from making broad generalization on world cuisine if you do not have sufficient knowledge on them
