Cake thread!
Chocolate cake here!
I'll see that and raise you a black forest caek!
Thinking about making an apple pie, how do i make one that looks like this?
>>7064887
I feel like black forest cake should be delicious in theory, but I've only ever had the mediocre grocery store version. Never see it anywhere else.
>>7064909
Greek diners in NYC seem to have it all the time.
>>7064903
Bump for the sake of cake
>>7064887
How can you eat that much cream?
>>7064903
Just make some pie dough and shape it like that, what's the problem?
>>7065110
>i can't decide to not eat the whole cake in one sitting
You've got problems that don't stem from "that much cream".
Bumping to see more cake
>>7065110
It's not like I eat the whole cake at once, a little slice works. WTF!?
Ive never made a cake before. Tomorrow I'm gonna make the sweetest (literally sweet) cake possible because I love white cake with sweet buttercream icing.
Any advice aside from hilarious "make a different kinda cake"?
King Cake. I think that the one that finds the babby in it has to buy the next one.
i've been wanting to try a jello poke cake for years.
but somehow i always forget to pull the ingredients together when i go shopping.
>>7066501
Sounds like me always forgetting to get black cherry jello, that might be good in that cake.
>>7066490
The quality of that image is horrible.
Upside down cake
Y/N?
I personally love it, most of the people I know loathe it.
>>7066511
Actually I had to scale it down from the 4mb original. 4chan wont let me upload a 4mb image and it would be annoying to people if I did.
>>7066511
Speaking of image quality, that sucks for a nearly 2mb image.
pour a generous amount of malibu rum right over a cake.
wrap the cake in parchment paper and just let it sit for a day or two. the cake will start out soggy, but it'll firm back up as the ethanol evaporates.
the resulting cake is indescribably delicious.
>>7066529
r u a gril?
>>7066538
I don't know what you're on about. It's almost as good as the original at 4mb.
Maybe you have a shit computer.
>>7066490
That is how it usually works now. In school in the weeks leading up to Mardi Gras, a kid would bring in a cake each Friday, and whoever got the baby had to bring the next one. It used to be that whoever got the baby had to host the next year's Mardi Gras party, though I don't know anyone who does that now.

Have you considered going to an opthamologist?
>>7066548
That sounds pretty cool. A dude from New Orleans who was working in New York with me turned us onto that. He was a decent dude.
>>7067925
>>7067929
maybe it tastes good, but that looks absolutely awful.
>>7067932
:( how can chocolate and strawberrys look awful?
>>7067925
Why in gods fuck did you put those strawberries on it? You are supposed to use the liquid from them with FRESH strawberries. God you are a retard.
>>7068033
i aint supposed to do anything, i did what i wanted and it was delicious.
also i think it looks good :(
>>7068033
and btw, it is fresh strawberrier, i just cut them
I like eating cake, but making it is another story. When I see all the stuff that goes into a cake I suddenly no longer find them appetizing.
>inb4 cheesecake
Cheesecakes are not cakes.
>>7068094
I'm kind of like that too, baking anything seems more like chemistry while with other cooking you can play around with the ingredients to preference, do that with a cake and it'll turn out wacky, plus baking seems like it would require a lot of space and clean up time.
I like to have fun cooking and not have to go down a list like I'm in some school chemistry lab.

Who's that hottie?
>>7068130
Ahh Taylor Swift, that image search comes in handy.

1. Make pie dough (more butter = flaky)
2. Spread 60-70% of dough (bottom and edges) into a pie tray
3. Peel and slice up apples
4. Mix slices apples with sugar in bowl
5. Add apple filling into pie
6. Make the rest of the dough into strips and place on top of the apples
7. Sprinkle sugar on top for effect
That's pretty basic. You can make the filling better by stirring it in a pot for a while and maybe adding milk and starch.
Looking for advice here. I'm baking a chocolate cake tomorrow and have both custard and banana filling. Which would go better with strawberries and chocolate sprinkles on top?
>>7068130
Oh god the things I would do to TayTay's cheese cake
>>7064828
>Pic related is the cakes made by the first year pastry/baking students at my school
They're really good and super cheap since the students need to practise quite a bit. I didn't get this one, but I really wanted to.
>>7066490
I want to get a recipie for this and make it this year for my freinds during Mardi Gras. It's always been something that I want to try.
>>7069230
Sorry the picture is sideways.
Also the slightly deformed ones (like this one) are usually on sale for a couple bucks cheaper.
