I am excitedly getting ready to start working on my next cosplay, but I have a bit of a problem. Ever since growing out my beard I find myself with very few options of who I can now cosplay as. I don't want to just slap a beard onto any character, but maybe it isn't such a bad idea. What is everyone's thoughts about this trend? Should I just have fun with it, or should I be ok with the option of Thorin or...Thorin?

Either look up characters with beards or don't cosplay. If you do a character that hasn't one got one when you do, you're basically saying

> my beard is the only interesting part about me, so I JUST HAD to have it for this.

Literally every videogame character is getting a beard now so you have a big pool to choose
Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Ryu, Kratos

Hey OP, fellow bearded cosplayer here. I've completed 3 cosplays and exactly 0 of them originally have beards. Here's the strange thing, people seem to really like it. One of the more common compliments I get are things like "Wow, [character] would look great with a beard!"

People in real life aren't anywhere as picky as the Internet. While cosplaying a bearded character is a great idea, don't be afraid to shy away from those who do not.
