I was expecting this to blow up to the next Attack on Titan levels of cosplay but I fear the girl's designs aren't interesting enough for it really to get huge.

here in my country is widely known amongst the fujo crowd, but I've only seen like two Mikas and one Yuu in the whole country
I'm planning seifuku Shinoa for january though (I'm a sucker for the colour palette ok that uniform is so pretty)
A lot of cosplayers for it around my area. Regardless, I have yet to see a good Mika, which is really all I care about, so that's unfortunate.

I think that the relative 'simplicity' of some of the costumes has the potential for shit-tier quality of costumes. Shame, as it's a brilliant series, with some of the best scenery artwork and music I've encountered in an anime series.

It's getting pretty popular in the bay area. Not many Gurens though. Only seen one all year.
The manga/anime as a whole isn't quite popular enough (not on the level like Attack on Titan, Madoka, etc). It has a decent number of cosplayers for a series but when you're super popular you have a lot more just because of that. ie. series A has (arbitrary numbers) 1000 fans and 10% cosplay it for 100 people. Series B has 100000 fans and 10% cosplay for 10000 people.
to be honest I like it just because of Yamato Yamamoto.
