Didnt see one in the catalog. What's been your makeup inspiration lately gulls? Plan on treating yourself to any Holiday palettes this year?
>>
Can we also ask for help in this thread? I'm searching for a primer...may someone recommend me one?
>>

I've heard a lot of nice things about the Hangover primer from Too Faced. Personally I use Cover FX anti-acne and mattifying primer but it seems like a lot of people hate it. I haven't had any weird issues with it though, and it doesn't make my face break out.

Does anyone use makeup cushions for their foundation? I impulse bought this Missha one because of the packaging, but I ran out of my favorite BB cream anyways.
>>
>>8704230
I don't but I'm super curious about cushion foundation, so please throw up a quick review once you get that in, anon! Thanks.

>>8704103
I've actually been really liking Revlon Photoready Prime + Anti-Shine, which I picked up at a drugstore for about $10 US. I've been using it in place of my more expensive primers because I like the feeling it gives my skin.
>>
>>8704230
Yo, seconding a review, please. I love that packaging and currently use Missha.
>>
I've never worn a lot of make-up but I want to start... What do I need?
Right now I just wear matte powder, nothing else
>>
Anyone have any good female to male makeup that doesn't look gross? I'm trying to achieve a boyish look for ouji but all I can find is gross facial hair tutorials.
>>
>>8704301
Foundation, powder, moisturizer, concealer, lipsticks, liglosses, eyeliner, mascara, lashes, lashcurler, more eyeliner, eyeshadow palettes, contouring kits etc
>>
>>8704103
I wonder if some of us just can't wear primer. I have dry, patchy skin and every nice primer I try gets stuck in the dry spots and leaves an ugly, obvious light spot. I just use pressed powder and it keeps my makeup on nicely
>>
>>8704312
You might have luck with using masculine contouring techniques. Women naturally have smaller features and a more rounded face. Men on the other hand tend to have square jaws, more pronounced brows, larger noses. You can achieve a more masculine look just with some well thought out contour powder. Play around with your angles and use a light hand.
>>
>>8704327
Is there an order I need to wear it? My skin's pretty scaly and dry
>>
>>8704394
You might want to get into skincare before makeup then.

In general, the order will be moisturizer, primer, concealer (if you need it, this should only be used on problem spots like acne, scars, etc), then foundation, then blush/bronzer (or whatever conturing stuff you want to do), then you can do eyeshadow, eye liner, mascara, eyebrows. I always save my lips for last (lip balm, wipe that off then apply lipliner, then lipstick), but you could do lips, then eyes, its not like it makes a huge difference. If you use a setting spray or powder, that should go on after eyeshadow but before mascara or you'll smear your mascara.

They were right except concealer should always go on top of foundation unless its for colour correcting I.e. a green concealer. Concealer for coverage should go on top because applying the foundation will just wipe it away.

tiny amount of eyelash adhesive on cheek, then use tweezers or wet q-tip to apply glitter.

Can anyone recommend a marker-style liquid eyeliner that doesn't dry out ridiculously fast and crease like crazy? I have really shaky hands and liquid and gel liners take double the time.

skin: primer, concealer, bb cream/foundation
eyes: eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara

if you're just starting out you don't need lip products or contouring..

something like tinted lip balm or lip stain...

Totally. Putting all of that stuff on and then not doing lips will make their lips disappear. Even lipgloss or tinted balms will help.
>>
Does anyone else find that if they have their makeup done by a professional, it looks super messy? I've had my makeup done by makeup-brand artists and it's always looked cakey or something, and while I'm not great with makeup, I can actually do it much better myself.
Anyone else find this?
>>
>>8704384
Use a moisturising primer. Embryolisse is really nice for super dry skin, Napoleon Perdis Autopilot Primer, MAC Strobe Cream, L'Oreal Lumi Magique are all good too. Just avoid silicone based primers, they're no good for dry skin, you really want something that's going to hydrate and bring some light to your face.

>>8704446
You should use concealer after foundation, actually. Apply your foundation first so you can see what's actually going to need concealing and also so you don't spread your concealer around to unnecessary places while blending.

>>8705199
Physician's Formula Lash Booster. Super easy to use, really black and stays put and I find it to be the longest lasting pen style liner I've used, takes forever to dry out.

>>8705505
Honestly I think something on the lips and some blush are way more important than eyeliner and eye shadow when you're staring out.

>>8705720
The makeup girls at counters don't necessarily need to be actual makeup artists to get the job in a lot of stores. It's kinda something they assume you'll figure out as you work. If you're wanting your makeup professionally done you're better off looking at local freelance makeup artists than girls at counters. If they have facebook/instagram/a website check out their work before booking. Also, every makeup artist has their own style so looking at freelancers and their work will help you find someone who's 'look' is what you're wanting. It's just about finding an artist you mesh with to be honest

Nobody NEEDS to wear any kind of makeup..

>>8704301
For an absolute beginner, I'd recommend
>BB cream.
>Concealer.
>Mascara.
>Blush(*)
>Lip balm.

You can dick around with eyeshadow/liner, contouring, primers and colour correction stuff if you really want to, but that always strikes me as 'done up' makeup - The stuff you wear for cosplays, photo shoots, fancy nights out.
>mfw there are girls who spend hours doing EVERYTHING every single morning just to go to work.

*Combination cream blush/lip tints are amazing and save heaps of space.
>>
What are you gulls opinions on light makeup? (no foundation/concealer/colour powder/fake eyelashes)

I hate wearing heavy makeup because it feels like a plaster on my skin, and all this stuff with fake eyelashes and circle lenses feels very uncomfortable whenever I wear it. Am I sinning?
>>
>>8706767
I'm >>8706752
I don't like wearing heavy makeup at all unless it's, as I said, for a cosplay/photoshoot/formal event.
..Although in saying that, I also have a tendency to look more and more like a drag queen proportionate to the amount of makeup that I wear.

I like just primer, bb, under-eye concealer, mascara and cream blush on my cheeks and nose bridge. kawaii as fuck; Takes five minutes.

as long as you look good, dude.

advice fishing: i have a super pointy face -- cheekbones, teeth, jawline -- but i still look cute as hell & i would be nailing the whole kawaii thing if the hollows of my cheeks were just a little more.... existent. like, banshee syndrome.

tl;dr are there any kind of techniques to downplay natural angles/contours?
>>
>>8704384
If you've dry skin definitely opt for a setting spray instead of a powder.
>>
Does anyone have a good lolita or gyaru contouring/ blush diagram or can you explain where to put blush to make a horrible long face look rounder? Normie contouring and most every chart I've seen makes my face look even longer. I know I can't put blush in the hollows of my cheek running up to my temples anymore like all the contemporary tutorials suggest, it looks really bad. I'm thinking maybe on top of my cheekbones?
>>
>>8706785
To make the hollows of your cheecks more obvious you put highlighter above the hollows, under your eyes in a diagonal line. You put blush in your hollows in another diagonal line, from right in front of the hollow to the temple. I'm trying to figure out how to get the opposite effect and having trouble...
>>
>>8706912

yeaaaaah no i'm also looking for the opposite. i already look like a starving victorian child.

anybody got some advice for applying falsies / cutting them to your eye shape? i got a few pairs because i wanted to try it but for the life of me i can't get them on right
>>
>>8705521
I have tried that. Unfortunately my eyelids get oily quickly so it doesn't stay on. I am forever hopeless until I get double eyelid surgery
>>
>>8706912
>>8706976
Smile so that the apples of your cheeks are really pronounced and put the blusher over them in a circular shape at the FRONT of your face. It'll flatten and widen your cheeks.

Keep a light, bright colour (no bronzer) and avoid other contouring (highlighter and bronzer.) Just blusher.

I don't wear makeup much, thanks to my job and having eczema prone skin (ouch) but I'd like to find an occasional-wear lipstick that's sensitive skin friendly and dramatic, without being straight-up black.

Applying eyelashes, where the fuck do I start? I tried applying them to myself, and it doesn't work, my friend who's a MUA tried applying them, doesn't work.
I went to a hair show as a model, and the MUA artist put them on, but they started falling off.

My eyelashes are really long and curly, maybe that's why it's stupid. Should I trim them? or are there other ways to apply them.
>>
>>8712105
It might be the glue. I use Dolly Wink lash glue, it's one of the best. Make sure to put more on the ends of the lashes, as those tend to come off easiest. And make sure to wait for at least 30 seconds until the glue become tacky and see through before applying them, this is really important. Also, you've trimmed your lashes to fit your eye shape, right? You're supposed to cut a bit so that they're not too long for your eye. Make sure you're not tearing or have wet eyes when applying, the glue will do jack shit in that case. There are also specific eyelash tools for applying fake eyelashes, I've never tried them but they might work for you. You should be able to find one on ebay if you search for eyelash applicator.
>>
>>8708986
This is great, ty!
>>
>>8712105
Definitely don't do anything to your eyelashes anon! I wear falsies because my eyelashes are shit in the first place.

Get a solid glue (not a cheap one that comes with falsies), make sure the lashes are good and not the dollar sets from ebay. If struggling to apply use a tweezers, hold for about twenty seconds.

i have huge curly lashes naturally and this is what i do
>apply thin eyeliner
>put clear, not white!, glue on lash and wait for tackiness
>hold down my natural lashes
>eye should be completely closed, and being held down by you pushing down on the tips of your real lashes
>pick up fake lash with tweezers
>put on the lash with inner corner first to make sure it lines up
>then place the end of the lash on the end of eye
>push middle of lash in and flatten it against real lash
>open eye
>make sure everything looks alright
>add more eyeliner and mascara if you need to cover up any fuck ups
and thats it! i purposely leave a small gap between my real lashes and the fake ones. if its too close it could get a bit unconformable and you can see/feel the fake lashes on your lid, which you shouldnt be able to do.
as for bottom lashes though, i have no idea. its still a mystery to me.

heads up elf cosmetics is doing 50% on purchases for the next two hours plus free shipping when you spend $35. the black packaged "studio" lineups are of decent quality for the price and their studio brushes are amazing considering how cheap they are. i just placed an order for 13 items for right at the $35 mark.

happy hunting!!

I hate fakery myself, even if I appreciate OTT makeup from an artistic point of view

If I didn't have acne marks and uneven skin tone I wouldn't even bother with cc cream. I just wear it to the point you'd assume I was 'normal' and not wearing foundation. Aside from that I use black and white eyeliner and mascara, that's it. I spend no more than 3 minutes on makeup and would look like a hooker with lipstick though I like it on other people. You're not sinning.

I really love the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks in the darker shades. My favourites are Damned and Exorcism! If you're in Australia the Australis Velourlips in Budapash is a colour dupe for Damned at a third of the price (tho the formula isn't as good)

Depends what brands you're after anon - Sephora and Mecca both have brands that are exclusive to them (Sephora generally carrying most US brands bar Nars, Two Faced, UD and a few more). Designer brands such as Chanel or Dior etc. I've generally found don't really vary in price wherever you go. With MAC I'd recommend you go to the actual stores instead of the Myer makeup counters since they carry more stock and collections.

Hope this is somewhat helpful! If you're based in Sydney I can give you more specific advice if you want :)
>>
>>8706767
Foundation is important for any makeup. It helps to even out tones in your face, you just have to choose the correct tone to not look fake and cakey.

My favourite is Clinique
>>
>>8713000
I prefer Mecca for most of my high end purchases. They stock a lot of the brands I prefer (hourglass, Nars, too faced) and they keep pretty close to the U.S. Retail price! Myer and David Jones have some nice brands like Shisiedo and Shu Uemura, but generally I'm meg about the rest of the brands and they tend to be almost double the U.S. Price.

Also I tend to avoid Mac, they're far too expensive here and they're products can be more misses than hits. But that just personal opinion.

>>8713357
Thank you, unfortunately I'm from Melbourne.
>>8713376
Awesome, thank you.

It seems like I will probably be going to Mecca then, it'll be my friend and I's first time being actually good quality make up so any further advice would be swell in regards to what they stock at Mecca.

She will be looking for a concealer and foundation, does anyone have favourites from there? I'll be looking for mainly a burgundy, preferably matte, eye shadow to match the dress in the picture and possibly a matching matte lip colour but I may try nyx first like >>8712087 and >>8713349 suggested

I'm wearing it to my school's formal, its like the Australian version of prom except its more of a sit down dinner with your teachers, in cases you're not Australian and you didn't know. Since its my last one I've decided to go a bit all out, like you said where would you even wear something like this otherwise.
>>

>>8713460
Unfortunately matte burgundies are hard to come by in general, I can't think of any in Mecca off the top of my head. Bars has one but it's quite stiff, and I think Stila has some in an eyeshadow palette. You'd have more luck with shimmers, Nars has some amazing Dual Intensity eye shadow but it's pretty pricey. Cheaper side would be the stila singles? You could ask the shop girls, their actually very friendly in my experience.

If you want a matte burgundy the Australis velourlips in Buda-pash is actually one of my favourites. It's very easy to use to, but practise a bit and have some make up remover and q-tips ready for any mistakes.
>>
>>8713505
thank you, it doesn't absolutely have to be matte, I'd just prefer it, so I'll have a look at all of the colours that match while I'm there. Looks like I will definitely be trying the australis one.

OCC Lip Tar - Black Metal Dahlia (purchased a few days ago - the photo doesn't do it justice it's beautiful)
Australis Velourlips - Buda Pash
MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass - Lasting Achievement
Sportsgirl - Runway(looks a lot darker on lips)
Rimmel Kate Moss - 107
Shiseido Perfecting Lipstick - P7
Shiseido Lacquer Rouge - RD 607

Special mentions to NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Transylvania which I cannot find anywhere in Australia NYX :( And also Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - Exorcism which I plan to get soon

Can someone recommend some subtle babby's first false eyelashes?

I've tried three pairs and they've all looked ridiculous on me. I tried a cheapo pair from Amazon, but they hurt and only looked OK. Then I decided to buy a pair from Sugarpill (Sinnocent) and they were way more dramatic than I expected. So I finally bought what was supposed to be a subtle pair from Sephora and it was even worse. Shit literally reached my eyebrows and made me feel like I had caterpillars sitting on my eyes.

Maybe false eyelashes just look shitty on some people because I can't understand how they look so great on others but look like costume shit on me. So frustrated.

False eyelashes always seem a bit dramatic when you are looking in the mirror. Also, if the space between your lash line and eyebrow is small, it can look very "40 lashes" if you curl them up.

Here are some tips.

Try brown lashes like pic related. (I found that pic from an eBay listing.) Make sure to trim them to fit your eye shape and don't curl them up so much.
>>
>>8719599
I actually refrained from curling at all them because they already almost touched my eyebrows.

But I showed this last pair to my SO (and he's ok with dramatic makeup. Dark red lipstick, heavy eyeliner, etc) and he thought they looked bad too, so I don't think it was just me looking in a mirror and thinking it was too much.

I don't know is brown lashes will work for me. I'm half Asian, so my lashes are naturally very black. Brown might not blend well (although I thought the same thing about brown eyeliner, and it looks way better on me than black eyeliner).
>>
>>8719311
if you like quality over quantity, yes. Formulas are usually smoother and longer lasting than their cheaper counterpart. Yeah I have a whole purse full of NYX lipsticks but if I am going out and want my color to last I'll go for something like KVD.

>>8719551
You miiight want to try individual lashes then? They come in different lengths (short, med, long) and you can place them exactly where you want.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKO10VdtLFU

if you think you want to go for the strips again, make sure you're applying them right (they shouldnt hurt???). I would search ebay for terms like "natural" and "short". If you feel like they are super overpowering you can always go for brown lashes instead of the bold black, and add whatever mascara you normally use to blend them in with your natural lashes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx_l9_IoYB8
>>
>>8719551
Dolly wink lashes are softer maybe you could go for those?
>>
>>8719608
Maybe you should look at half lashes instead then. Since the lashes are on the outer half of your lid, you can avoid that weird thing that happens when the lashes are near your eyebrow. I know this struggle anon. Falsies are a journey. They rarely look good the first few times your try them. There's a lot of experimentation involved.

I just found out that Sugarpill is finally coming out with lipstick, I think I'm going to die of excitement... Though I hope they come out with unnatural colors soon, as of right now they only have a blue-toned red and a fuschia color.
>>
>>8715177
Since you have it you may know, if not the questions goes out to anyone. How do I stop the large difference between my inner lip and where the lip colour stops? I've only ever really used lips sticks and butters so its never been a problem, but as this products sets, it then flakes off the inner part and its noticeable even when my lips are normal

Also in my test makeup I tried using the cheapass eyeshadow I got as a blush and its too blue based and makes me loop like a corpse so does anyone know a blush colour <$20 in Australia that would go with this look because I've never really paid much attention to blush as I've always just used coral as it suits skin tone but I think that would clash with the rest of the makeup in this case. I tried looking around today but didn't really find myself drawn to anything and I don't really know much about blush to be a good judge.

>>8719652
This is so exciting, I've been meaning to make another sugarpill order soon because my taro is so very nearly ran out and there are a few of the loose eyeshadows I have my eye on but now I'm definitely to try a lipstick as well.
>>
>>8720137
I have a product that does something similar and it seems to help if I reapply another layer where it tends to flake off once it's dry.
>>
>>8720137
What you could do is find a tube of matte lipstick that's a similar hue to what you have on but in a lighter shade and use that as blush instead.
>>
>>8719551
Oh gosh, I love talking about fake eyelashes!

Tbh, most of the cheap eyelashes online from China are lashes I would only use for cosplay. They're way too dramatic for my tastes otherwise.

For everyday usage, I find that most of the Japanese brands tend to have more 'subtler' looking ones than the American ones. My eyelashes get swallowed up by my monolid, so I can use the Nudy line from Diamond Lash and still get a fluffy effect, although if you have naturally longer lashes it might not do much for you. I need to shower rn but if you can find a Japanese makeup store, I recommend that you browse their eyelash section and see which brands/lines you'd like to try and then order them online to save a few dollars from retail price.
>>
>>8720142
Yeah, I tried that but unfortunately it just ended flaking off again but in bigger pieces.
>>8720143
I was considering doing that as a have a lipstick that is pretty close but I wanted to use a powder blush as creams for me are always hard to apply evenly when I'm not just doing light foundation. I'll give it a try wednesday when do another test with lighter hair.

Picked up Girl Crush (The fuschia) at IMATS this weekend. It's gorgeous! Both are matte, formula isn't too drying and really nicely pigmented. Wears really nicely but you will get transfer. Just no! Never get Dolly Wink lash glue, it's the worst you could get, except for the free glue you get with buying a pair of lashes which has a 100% different consistency than the one you can buy on eg pinky paradise.
I'd always recommend the one from diamond lash as it holds your lashes on forever. You can also try local brands, if you're from Europe, maybe try the one from Essence

My usual go-to: moisturiser, blush, powder, eyebrows, eyeliner, tinted lipbalm/lipstick. Some eyeshadow and/or fake eyelashes if it's an eventful meetup like high tea.
My skin is pretty clear, so it's not bad.
It's also how you'd generally do traditional make up for sweet lolita -- "little make up/natural look". Though, that's not my reason, I'm just slow, lazy and a late waker.
>>
Seagulls, give me the dirt on Younique, especially their touch liquid foundation. My facebook is plagued with constant videos of their reps "reviewing" this "miracle" product in videos, usually by drawing on their faces and then covering it with this foundation. One girl with terrible acne actually did completely cover her face with a few drops, which was impressive in theory, but considering how bad their other products are I can't imagine that this is that great. I went looking for negative feedback to confirm my suspicions but I'm dumbfounded that I can barely find any reviews that aren't created by their employees.

This happens to me, it doesn't stick to the wet part, which due to mouth shape, is exposed on some people. The more different the color, the more noticeable the effect.
Try staining the inside with a lip stain of a similar color, that's what I use for the inside and corners. Use water based so you don't melt your matte.
>>
currently, the only makeup I wear is eyeliner and mascara. aside from that, I'm a makeup noob. >>
>>8720137
Hello again Aussie anon! I don't know if I have the right method for your problem, as this generally doesn't happen with me anymore, but I can list some methods that might work.

I'd make sure the area I'm putting colour on is dry, sometimes these sorts of products won't stick well on wet lips. Also try using a lip liner over the are first, or a similar matte lipstick, they wont flake off and might help the product to adhere. I normally apply a thing layer, wait for it to dry and then apply a second layer for full opacity. Another anon suggested a stain, which is a good idea.

As for blush, I'd use warm colours. Reds my favourite, but peaches and orangey nudes would also be cute. If you wanna play around with colour for cheap then try some of the Essence blushes, they're like $4 each and they have a decent formula. I don't use powder blush so I can't recommend any, but I think Max Factor might have some nice ones? And I like the texture of the new Australis stuff. Hopefully theres stuff left after the priceline sale.

(sorry for the text dump, it's just nice to help put another Aussie)
>>
>>8725617
Thanks, this sounds like a good tip that I'll try with other colours but the colour I have is very dark and I don't think I would be able to find a stain that dark late notice.
>>8726038
Thanks for the advice but I tried applying it a few more times and have more or less fixed the problem. Like you said I tried applying it to my lips as dry as they could possibly get and it applied a lot better. I ended up going shopping during the priceline sale and got australis' show some cheek in Fame and did a test with it and it looked really nice with the look. I also ended getting all those mini sets of the velourlips as I loved Budapash so much and they ended up being $9 each for 5 minis to a set so I am super happy with that. I got a few other things that were great but I got the australis concealer stick too as I thought I'd try it as they had proved to have nice formulas in other things but it totally sucked, its like a thick waxy crayon, it creases under eyes and will not blend, so if any other aussie anons are reading, stay away from it, it was a waste of money.

Too Faced Born This Way foundation and Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo foundation are both high-coverage, the Too Faced one being the lighter of the two. I wouldn't reccomend the Kat Von D one for daily use, but if you're really trying to cover up major things, it's amazing. Mac Pro Longwear is also good.

I'm not sure about drugstore options, but the 10H wear Sephora brand foundation is pretty good. I wear it on light days, and it covers up any redness and hyper-pigmentation I have with a second layer.

Did you guys pick up anything else during the Priceline sale?
Here's what I grabbed:

>Velourlips Minis
Cute stocking stuffer for a friend

>Velourlips full size in Buda-Pash
My first time using this. It wasn't drying like I expected it to be, and it has good colour payoff and staying power even without lip liner or primer.

>Maybelline Baby Lips x2
Everyone raves about these but I'm not sure how I feel about them. So far I've only tried the Antioxidant-Berry and it's sickly sweet, almost on par with a lipsmacker. They last a while on the lips and give a nice shine but I'll have to wait and see how moisturizing they actually are.

>Rimmel Moisture Renew Transparent Lip liner

>Maybelline Fit Me Powder
The packaging is a little awkward but they do a good range of shades for a drugstore brand.

>Australis Concealer
I used this in the past with no problems but that was a while back. Most concealers were out of stock in lighter shades unless you wanted a wand type applicator but I'm a bit wary of those since they end up being a bacteria breeding ground.

>Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick in #10 -Just Pinched Pink
It's a nice subtle pink tone with a slight shimmer.

I also stopped by Target and got a new sponge and brow pomade from Chi Chi. I have to say that they've really stepped up their game. The brow pomade is nicely pigmented and has good staying power but the available colours are quite limited. I grabbed the blonde colour in the end and it's quite mousy. The taupe is not much different (I'd probably say a bit ashier) whilst the medium brown is rather dark.

The sponge is great though. I've previously had a cheap ebay one that was very firm and dense, and a more expensive one from Shu Uemura. The latter was so soft and light and this Chi Chi one is on par with that. For only $6 I'll defs be buying more.

Dollywink's marker type liner is great too, I don't remember what it's called though.

I also got
>Australis AC on tour contouring and highlighting kit
Pretty sure this is supposed to be a dupe for the Anastasia one. the formula is pretty all right for the price. The banana shade applies amazingly. Some of the browns can get muddy quickly but that might have been my application. They are good shades the for yellow undertones in my skin

>Maybelline fit me foundations stick
My old one had run out, I use the lightest and its a good match in brightness. Formula is a bit greasy but you can set it so hey. I tried the fit me powder before but found it went orange if I had literally anything under it, even concealer.
>>
>>8727488

>>
>>8727521
May I ask what skintone you have and which coloured kit you bought? I had a look at the light version but even that seemed quite dark.
And that's a shame about the Fit Me Powder. Do you have a lot of trouble with products oxidizing?
>>
>>8726890
Thank so much, I'm checking it out now! So few people in my area have olive skin that's pale, so it's hard to find makeup anywhere that matches!
>>

How do you get the hair texture of the top left version? Is that just light curling or something? Im retarded and know nothing about styling hair, some one please help me. I feel like that texture would be perfect for my next cosplay.
>>
>>8727686
I got the light and I have warm undertones and I thought the same thing but for the price I thought I would try it anyway. It actually looks pretty good on and not too unnatural but it also depends on how thickly you apply it. I don't often have problems with it and it wasn't as though it was a gradual oxidation, it was as soon as I applied it no matter how long I waited after I applied concealer or foundation.
>>
>>8727686
Different anon - I wear Nars Siberia All Day Luminous Weightless and set it with Fit Me 115 and it doesn't oxidize on me at all. As for contour kit I have the light one and it doesn't really work for me. All the contour colours are too dark for me unless I use the lightest of light hands and the highlight shades are darker than my skin so they do nothing for me and the banana powder looks like bright yellow on me. That said, I shoved it in my kit for a couple of friend's makeups and it worked great of them, just definitely more suited to medium skin tones than light ones.

I'm in college and I have shit knowledge on how makeup works. I normally just use tea tree oil products to moisturize my skin, use MAC matchmaster liquid foundation 1.0-1.5 (depending on if I tan in the summer or not), setting powder, and curl my eyelashes. My mother was a professional make-up artist so I would have her doll me up for events and then revert back to uggo mode the next day. I only started wearing makeup last year because my face has pink undertones that make my skin look blotchy. My skin is oily as well so this foundation is hell. Pic is of me with and without foundation. Any tips on how to make my face not look like its dying?
>>
>>8729230
It's good that it worked for you in the end.

>>8729311
Have you found a suitable pallete since then? It's a shame that most of the light kits on the market are so dark. I was thinking of just buying a few individual shades for the job rather than a full palette.
>>
>>8729334
Use a more dry foundation suitable for oily skin and a good setting powder. Makeup For Ever's HD definition translucent powder is hands down the best setting powder, I use loads of it every day and my jar has lasted for two years, hands down the best product I've ever splurged on. It keeps your face dry all day, I've tried every powder under the sun and none has come close to being as long-lasting. Plus it's translucent so you don't need to worry about matching your shade.

I personally use Lazarus (the large grey pan in the top middle) of the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye palette. You can probably find something similar as a single but I love that palette so much that I'd reccomend picking it up anyway. I haven't found a good matte highlight yet that isn't straight up white, but for shimmer I use the white gold kinda shade in the Australis Bronze Eyed Girl palette on cupids bow and nose and Napoleon Perdis Golden Peach loose eye dust on my cheeks.

Ah man! I just cancelled my account in October. How many points is it going for?

BTW I had a subscription for a year and cancelled because I was getting too much makeup I'd never use. I much prefer spending $50 at Ulta on items I get to choose and have the option of exchanging if I don't like it.

Does anyone have any advice for eyebrow filling products?

I have a Missha angled pencil which I love but it's almost gone and I was considering trying powder this next time but I don't really know pros or cons about powders.

I've tried using other eyebrow pencils, but the usual colors I see are either black or light brown which makes my brows look either too dark or too light brown even with smudging.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

So the cushion make up finally came in, and the packaging was totally worth it. As for the make up itself, I chose the "moisture" version and it feels rather nice on my dry ass skin. I do get really oily on my t-zone, but I just set that area with powder and the dewiness went away. I like how portable it is, and the sponge which makes applying it evenly much easier than using my finger tips. It also has really high coverage, which I wasn't expecting, but it doesn't look too cakey and I can skip concealer.

Hi, I've decided to try out crossplay. But the thing is that I wish to this in secret as I don't want my relatives or friends to find out. Which means that I need to be able to quickly erase any signs of makeup. I don't really care if the makeup is cheap as long as the makup fulfills that criteria. Since I'm only going to wear the makeup a few times at best, there's no need for high quality items.

So can /cgl/ recommend me some make-up that's easily removeable or general tips for a beginner who hasn't applied any makup before?

any of the drugstore bb creams good? looking to try some out

happy for you anon! i love my cushion foundation a tip: remember to wash the cushion itself, i was shocked to see how dirty mine was without me noticing.

Ooh, thanks for the tip, I didn't think about washing it!

Where are you getting Kat Von D in Australia? I was on Sephora's website but they didn't have them.

Bourjois have cheap and nice blushes. I think priceline carry them. Have a careful look before you buy though as some are glittery.

I found it on the sephora site just then though so maybe you missed it or something? http://www.sephora.com.au/products/kat-von-d-shade-and-light-contour-eye

WHOA WHOA WHOA, BACK IT THE FUCK UP, SEAGULLS.

YOU GOT SOME HEREDITARY UNDER-EYE DARK CIRCLES?

THAT SHIT AIN'T GOING AWAY.

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT'LL COVER IT UP LIKE A SONOFABITCH?

THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE, SON.

IT LOOKS FUCKIN' FLUORESCENT IN THE TUB, BUT DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU.

IT'S LIKE $8US AND YOU LITERALLY JUST NEED TO TOUCH YOUR FINGER TO THE SURFACE TO COVER BOTH EYES.

GO BUY SOME.

Posting this from mobile, so I hope it isn't too large. I also hope I didn't over-cover my face.
Please help, how do I contour this monstrosity of a nose? It's very curved (like a damn baby's) and the tip is large (looks bigger irl) and every tutorial the girls have straight, nice nose bridges so they just follow the lines of the sides of their nose or whatever. I hope this is alright and I make sense, and thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help me.
>the red line follows the curve of my nose since it isn't super noticeable in that photo.

Where did you guys get the Velourlips minis? I went to a Priceline in Sydney CBD and my local one but I've never seen/heard of the set before!
In corroboration with the anon before - I find layering Budapash with a lipstick is very nice (pic related)

I got:

>Australis Mettalix eyeshadow
A dupe for the Stila foil eyeshadows I believe? This applies so beautifully and the shimmer is really stunning.

>Essence pencil sharpener
It was $2 with both a normal and jumbo end which is nice

>L'oreal lipliner
Was looking for a lip liner that could go with my darker lip colours though I find darker drugstore lipliners to be quite brown leaning - will see how this goes..

>Maybelline Fit Me liquid foundation
Just restocking on an old favourite
>>
>>8732024
Hey I'm the anon you replied to - I've got a Sephora near me (Sydney CBD) which is where I go. I think they're opening up in Melbourne as well.
Sorry I can't be of any more help
>>
>>8732420
You need to uncover the top of your nose bridge on the front facing photo for me to give proper advice, but basically follow the same principles - highlight to push things forward and shade to push things back. So I would highlight straight down the middle of your nose basically where you've drawn the red line, but NOT including the tip since that already points out and forwards. You want to bring the curved in area "out"with highlight. I would put the darker contour shade on either side of your highlighted area and bring it in on the sides of your nostrils to slim down the end of your nose. Does that make sense?
>>
>>8732447
i know. i wish i had a roman nose like my boyfriend.
>>8732494
yes, it does, thank you!
>>

I got mine in greensbough Melbourne, they were also stocked in Doncaster I know for sure, I visited one in university hill however and there wasn't any so it may just be selected pricelines, its up on their website though. https://www.priceline.com.au/australis-mini-velourlips-matte-lip-cream-in-darks-reds-5-pack

I use powder and I love it, but my brows are already a good shape. I use the powder to darken them so they stand out a little. I think if you have the type of brows where you need to 'draw in' a shape then you might want to stick with a pencil.

Requesting more pictures of glitter blush like in the OP please.

As far as make-up removal goes, if you're male shaving works really well for removing it. It's a trick they teach in boot camp for removing cammie paint.
>>
>>8732420
I have a similar nose. I use the Diamond Beauty nose palette and use the two shading colors around the tip of the bulbous tip to slim it down and make a fake straight bridge by following my eyebrow curve and highlight the middle -- it's still not a perfect nose, but it looks way better.
>>
I would love to have even-looking skin everyday, but whenever I try applying foundation or BB creams it just looks cakey and bad. I don't know what I'm missing.
>>
>>8732624
do you use moisturizer and primer beforehand? I used to use BB cream by itself and it would look terrible. now I use face blur by etude house after moisturizing and it looks soooo good.
>>
>>8732628
Yes, I moisture beforehand and I have tried a primer but it seems to make no difference.
>>
>>8732628
i don't think my skin is pale enough to use that bb sadly. can I ask what kind of primer you use?
>>
>>8704476
>>8718497
>>8732588
Try glitter gel.
Honestly, the pic looks like the stuff aimed at little kids, Lip Smackers Glitz n Glow glistening pink or something similar.
>>
>>8732628
face blur is my shit. i buy a lot of etude house because i just like the cute packaging, the price, and the pay off is pretty good but the face blur primer is the only one i actively gush over all the time. it's incredible.
>>
what do you guys do when you're having a bad day and cant seem to get your makeup to look right?
I hope im not the only one, but i have days where i can never get my eyeliner even and i feel like even basic eyeshadow looks weird and bad and it's so frustrating.
>>
>>8715190
a toner is a acne product. its usually blue with a water like consistency. you typically get a cotton ball and put a thin layer of it on your face before you go to sleep. it dries your skin out, which drys out any pimples or zits.

>>8720582
i would say try la girl concealer or maybelinne instant age rewind. both are cheap and worth giving a shot. i have huge suuuper dark circles, really, ive never seen anyone with ones worse then mine. both those products lighten them up a bit. so if you have ones not as bad as mine, they might work really good for you.
>tfw no amount of make up can completely cover my huge bags
>tfw destined to look like a sleep deprived zombie for the rest of my life

>>8733166
well on those day i just climb back into bed, cry myself to sleep and wonder why i even try.

I used a Klairs sheet mask for the first time and had a bad reaction. Now my skin is really red, warm, and covered in small bumps/blisters. It hurts and looks so bad, is there anything I can do to make it better? So far I've just been gently washing my face with my regular cleanser, not trying any more new products for a while...
>>
>>8733166
Practice? The only way I've gotten better at make up is by doing it more often and checking out how it looks in pictures.
Now I get compliments from anons on my make up and if people on /cgl/ are being nice, it's probably because it looks good. Or at least passing.
>>
Which brand would you recommend for liquid red eyeliner? They are very hard to find on western market. I see makeup forever has one but it's glittery and I want a Matt red.
>>
>>8734248
I don't think you're going to find that anywhere. I'd look for maybe some long lasting liquid lipsticks and user a liquid liner brush to apply them?

There are some things I found on ebay and aliexpress that are red eyeliners, but buying those can be risky.

Does anyone know good coloured mascaras? I want some gold, silver, red and white mascara but am having difficulty finding any. Most golds and silvers are just glitters and I have one gold at the moment but it is very thin and takes a long time to dry.

I have dry skin and a small patch of psoriasis, but Face Blur doesn't dry me out at all. I'm also a big fan of the entire Moistful Collagen line and the I Need You masks (green tea is my favorite but mugwort is also great).

>>8734248
Pick up a red pigment and something like Ben Nye Liquiset, mix them and just use that.

Can someone recommend a brand of dramatic yet comfortable fake eyelashes? I really like those big doll-like ones that you can buy in bulk of ebay because they're so in-your-face and cheap but the thick band is so itchy on my eyes.... Any help is appreciated!

>>8732420
I have a roman nose and I wish I had a cute little doll nose like yours, anon. The grass is always greener on the other side.

Ben Nye makes a white mascara. Not sure about the other colors but Inglot and Colourpop do gel liners in lots of colors, maybe you could use those with a spoolie brush to put on your lashes.

Smashbox primers are usually a good bet. Also seconding Hangover RX, it's really good but very expensive
