If you're busty (like me) then you have to be conscious of stuff fitting your boobs. The outfit on the left fits you, the outfit on the right clearly does not. Anon above really hit the nail on the head when they said you look like you're wearing your little sister's party frock - it's a lovely dress, but it's overwhelmed by how distracting the poor fit is. I suppose I'll hop in because I'd like some advice on the lolita side of life.
Out of lolita I wear sort of a clean-cut goth look. Lots of black, motorcycle jackets, pencil skirts, button ups, that type of stuff, and in Lolita I'm still struggling to find what suits me best. This is one of my favorite coords I've ever done, and I really love simpler goth looks (I feel those suit me the best so far), but I enjoy looking at so many other styles that I really want to try other things and get comfortable in them. Sweet is a definite no, but I love classic so much and I have not yet found where I fit in in that style, and it's a little sad to keep selling off such gorgeous pieces that I find and am trying with. Any advice?

They've released a lot of nun type dresses, but they come in other colors besides black so you won't like you're wearing strait up Gothic.They also have pieces in black that don't look necessarily Gothic either. Anyway, spaghetti aside, when I look at you the first thing I think of is something along the lines of 'Dita von Teese meets lolita'. I think you should maybe still try sticking to cleaner cut looks, but I think classic would really suit you - think classy up-dos, side partings and tilt hats, classy interesting heels and lace up heeled boots, lace and patterned tights etc.
Obviously I wouldn't suggest imitating her style exactly but I think My Subarashii LoliDays on tumblr has a similar thing going on, but I'm sure you could put your own stamp on something along those lines.
You could even try some of the softer 40s/50s type make-up looks with vintage hats that could compliment lolita. I'd also recommend looking up images from Dior's New Look if taking things in that kinda direction interests you.
Colour-wise I think you'd look great in jewel tones and duskier ivories. Pic related for some ideas.
