There really isn't a part of Miyafuji that simply isn't cute.
By the way, that's Karina-chan cosplaying as Miyafuji in that picture.

Wonder why the artist gave Miyafuji socks in that image, but it's nice too.

Don't know if any of you go to helma, but we just had a major problem (site hit an arbitrary, unlisted space limit) and I don't know if it can be fixed because the host is 99% dead and I don't even think I can contact them. I can't even access cpanel anymore. I have everything backed up and current -except- /sw/, which is a several month old backup (this happened while I was trying to backup /sw/)..
This could be fixed by tomorrow, or never, depending on if I ever get a reply.
>>2649002
I like Perrine's brows.
>>2649168
Here I was wondering what was the issue with showing white page. Anticipatingly waiting for the fix.
>>2649168
I just came here to ask why only /sw/ wasn't working.
Do you have a way to contact you, helmadmin? In case of a worse case scenario.
Would you be able to switch hosts? I can only remember this one giving you nothing but problems. We can't let helma die.
>>2649168
You probably should post in the /u/ general too. But man that sucks major time.
>>2649168

>>2649169

>Would you be able to switch hosts? I can only remember this one giving you nothing but problems. We can't let helma die.
Funnily enough the whole reason I was backing up the site in the first place was because I was planning on doing exactly that. I was hoping to start the transfer about a week from now.
>>2649176
Well, worst case scenario we just have to start over on a new board, right?
>>2649177
Pretty much. Though with how broken my host is, there's also the possibility that I might not be able to transfer my domain. Which would be a nightmare.
Wost case is that everything will be completely restored on a new host, except /sw/ which will be several months, maybe even over half a year behind.
>>2649176

Well hoping for the best, and do tell about this in the /u/ sw general as that gets more checks by people in general than here, also lasts longer.

>>2649302

Welp, I just noticed that the nsfw board was loading and seemed to be working normally except I couldn't upload pics to it. So I tried making a text post and now it just loads a white page like everything else. Fml.
>>2649430
Its something like a readonly lockdown. Any PHP operations are stopped. I rushed to the board admin page first when I heard the news, but I cannot even login to add an announcement.
What's bad is /sw/ files are missing (or at least, I cannot find them via the URL). If /sw/ still existed and loadable, by the least I could write a script to scrape the pages.
They're not even hiding it anymore.
It seems like there's going to be some special 501st/502nd crossover event of some sort.
Also, chapter 2 of the Erica manga is going up on karlsland.net I think.

Figures, all the hosts emails are dead. There's one last thing for me to try, their phone number. But I think I know how well that's going to go.
Things aren't looking good.
>>2649653
Okay, shit is weird. The site *is* working, in a way.
Please, people who aren't the HelmaAdmin, don't do this. Leave the site alone for him to try to salvage.
I just Googled helma.us and then clicked on Cached view and I got a cached version of the /sw/ page. But then when I clicked on Reply for the birthday thread it appeared to take me to a live thread. Maybe I'm misreading shit but it looks like the site is still there on the server and that somehow connections to its content are getting cut off. If the site is a house, first you can't get in through the front door, then you can't even see the driveway but if you sneak in from the neighbours backyard it's all still there and you can get inside.
If someone out there is able, could somebody try a script or whatever to go and scrape/rip the threads so the Admin has something as fresh as possible to rebuild with? I'm going to leave the site alone to avoid accidentally triggering another entry loss.
AGAIN, PLS DON'T TRY THIS UNLESS YOU ARE THE ADMIN OR HAVE A WAY TO RIP THE SITE AND PASS THE DATA ON TO THE ADMIN. Things are fragile, don't fuck this up, please, guys. :)
>>2649745
I'm trying to save what I can, but we have a bigger problem now. I can't transfer my domain to a new host..
>>2649794
Can you register a new, similar domain name and put a redirect on helma.us? Or does that need the host to do that?
>>2649809
In order to make helma.us redirect to the new domain, I would have to be able to access it which I can't anymore.
I've sent out a email to the company that supposedly owns the domain (it wasn't my host, apparently.) so hopefully they'll unlock it for me.
>>2649812
By the way is this all Asian or American handlers? Just curious.
>>2649816

Google inspirohost and you get a NYC business and addy...
Well some good news. Thanks to >>2649745 I have /sw/ up to page 8 lined up for downloading. There's going to a couple missing posts and threads (someone broke the Charlotte thread), but this is the best we can do.
If I don't get a reply about the domain tomorrow, I might just make a whole new site name, host it there, then wait until helmas domain expires then re-buy it. Far from ideal, but there are no other options at the moment.
If anyone wants to brainstorm a new temp domain name feel free to. I was thinking of just using helmaus.com or something. Strikewitch.es would be awesome, but it's already taken.
>>2649847

Content-wise, Google seems to be more up to date.
The pages are one issue. The thread content is going to be another issue. I guess I'll try to rip some of them out of Google's cache as well.
>>2649881
The 'live' page of the main /sw/ page that Google's cache dropped me on had the EMT birthday post with this pic showing as the most recent post. The date on it was April-something. Are you unable to get into the site contents through that route, as described in >>2649745?
>>2649893
>emt 24.jpg
It should beeee uemt!
And I posted that birthday post on Hartmann's birthday which was 19th.
>>2649881
>https://web.archive.org/web/20160325010655/http://helma.us/sw/
I ripped all the html files, images, and thumbnails from the /sw/ threads up to page 8 which is mostly 2014 threads (we should already have those). All the files are in the proper folders (res, sec, thumb) and should work right.
The one thing I didn't get is the board page indexes. But I think I might be able to fix that manually.
>>2649905
And to expand, these files are all taken from the current "live" version of the site, not an archive.
>>2649893
>>2649897
You are correct. But that is the board page (/sw/), not the thread page (/sw/res/2379.html).
If we archive the board page, we do not archive the thread contents. Google seems to cache different versions for the thread pages.
However, thanks to your tip, I made a discovery. The Helma webserver is still serving the images properly, as visible from clicking the images from Google Cache. They actually point to the Helma's domain, and loads properly. Example:
http://www.helma.us/sw/src/146102370251.jpg
>>2649905
>up to page 8
Even the individual threads? That was fast. I was just about to decode how Kusaba labels the filename and attempt to download all images.
>>2649909
>Even the individual threads?
Only the threads and their images. If you have some way to grab the /sw/1.html 2.html, etc files we still need those.
>That was fast. I was just about to decode how Kusaba labels the filename and attempt to download all images.
Using googles archive, I went page to page and opened up all the threads in tabs then manually queued up the html, src, and thumb files with downthemall. Took forever but it looks like it's working. Still have about 1 - 2 hours of download time to go though.
>>2649909
>But that is the board page (/sw/), not the thread page (/sw/res/2379.html).
I realize that. But I was also able to enter a thread from that 'live' page, the birthday thread. HelmaAdmin has just confirmed that he's been able to use that route to recover a lot of content. I was asking if you'd tried that same route to similarly go about saving thread contents.
I know I'm not phrasing these descriptions well.
>The Helma webserver is still serving the images properly
The webserver appears to be serving everything properly, it's just having some kind of snit about what connections or routes or whatever it serves them to. Like in the house analogy above. We have to take a detour through the neighbour's backyard that is the Google cache in order to get into the house and see its threads.

Remember to keep posting cute witches so the mods don't get too mad at us.
>>2649921
No no, my apologies. I was slow to catch on here.
>>2649914
>If you have some way to grab the /sw/1.html 2.html, etc files we still need those.
For the moment, I think we'll have to stick with Google Cache.
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://www.helma.us/sw/1.html
I'm still going through the code, but I have a solid theory.
- The "regenerate all pages and threads" code kicked in (probably triggered by a post submitted in /sw/).
- First portion of code is to "regenerate all board pages", which takes thread contents from the database.
- Something went very wrong here. Either we hit the random limit, or something PHP messed up.
- The board pages (/sw/1.html) and catalog (/sw/catalog.html) are regenerated, but with empty pages.
- The script did not proceed to "regenerate all threads", and blurted out an error message (probably).
- The thread pages are untouched (/sw/res/1.html), as it was not able to proceed. Board pages still remain the same with the blank pages.
Which would pretty much explain our odd structure in /sw/ now. So in short, we should have lost all our board pages and catalog.
I hate to say it but I had completely forgot about helma.us till I went through this post. Sad to see what happened to it. Hope we get it back.
>>2649969
>Something went very wrong here. Either we hit the random limit, or something PHP messed up.
Cpanels automatic backup hit the space limit, so I think the regeneration failed because there isn't a single free byte on the server right now.
I remember when we had almost daily threads on /a/. Now we're stuck with nothing but images on /c/ and closet fags on /u/, as helma is down now.
This is no accusation to you, Helma admin but to the community itself.
It just feels like it's all going to end.
>>2650099
Those daily threads were damn cancer already years ago. The /u/ general is pretty good though, they are talking about the LN's, which I haven't read and probably never will as it's not for me, even if it's witches but the discussion is there in the end on its own pace.
Helma took up a bit of activity since December which is nice, it's the half dozen of us devoted to that place in the end, so I don't understand how you can feel 'going to end' at all especially with Erica manga going and the season airing someday, which will have its inevitable newfag followers.
There's still karlsland.net too for Asians but anyone can post there. I know reddit community has sort of daily activity when I took a peek but that place will forever be just >reddit for me.
You're a weirdo.
Good news for once. I managed to regain control of the domain name, and purchased a new hosting package from another company. Helma should be up and running again in a couple of days, unless I get sucker punched by something else.

*Does a happy ritual dance around a bonfire to please witch goddesses*

>>2650192
>Wanting the daily threads back.
Kill yourself. Unless maybe during the running season time, but even then the current shows that run now don't have those on /a/ except for the most popular shows.
>odd spot
>only one running manga on
Gee, I wonder why.
>>2650200
Calm down. Everyone can dream.
Although I'd admit, daily threads would be a little overkill. We'd only run out of topics, turn to waifu posting, then the no-fun posters join in to make one big mess.
>>2650200
I honestly don't see anything wrong with, let's say 2 threads a week. If someone takes offense to that, he can always filter them.
In my opinion, it felt incredibly comfy in those threads, even though the posting was questionable at times. Almost like a big family.

idk what you expected, but if you don't like dealing with the cancer, you should have left years ago.
>>2650225
I may have been a bit triggered by a retarded remark, I apologize.
That's how they were pretty much yeah.
>>2650253
If it's a running show, then yeah that sounds about right.
It does feel comfy in helma with our open clique but the circlejerking in /a/ is nothing like it and most of the time was just off topic garbo, well it did feel comfy five years ago but times were different and even then they were the same shit, just happened to be more younger and naive.
>big family
Try small devoted family but yeah.
>>2650266
Insert here 'you're here forever.jpg', it doesn't mean one has to shit where he eats from. Making things better is possible, now if only mods would kill off generals more prominently, like the gup threads that have been reduced to same state SW used to be. At least the movie's coming out in a month.
Hell, I wish 4chan would shut down sooner than later, so I could be free.
>>2650287
It's the internet. And 4chan is the fenceless rodeo part of it. Having a tantrum at your fellow fans because some posts in some SW threads aren't up to your standards doesn't benefit anybody here, especially you. If you're frustrated, I can understand. Blowing up at people who otherwise have your back is some Perrine shit. Don't be Perrine.
As it is in life, so it is in threads. Enjoy what you like, skip past what you don't and try to get ensnared by the shitposting. If you can't do those things you're not going to have a good time and right now it sounds like you're not having a good time. Maybe you should do something about that.
