Dekomori a cute!
its not desu, its des, the japanisation of death

"Desu" is the Katakana equivalent to the English word "Death"
See, there is a limited amount of sounds in the Japanese language, so they have to use their own equivalents.
They don't have "Th" in their language so they replace it with "s". They don't have words ending in any consonants apart from "n" so they usually end English words with "u" or "o"
So, Death - Desu

What a child.

It's not dess or desu. It's literally "death." You're all retarded.

This had me a little confused when I was watching the show. She says what sounds like "des," and the subs translate it as "death," but she uses it the same way "desu" is overused.

If she's saying desu either way, then how do you know the difference between when she means "death" or "this/it is?" Because contextually death doesn't make any sense, but desu would if she's just memeing it.

What is a pun?

Hint: she pronounces the "e" in desu with an acute "at" sound, when it should be more like a "the" sound.
