I tend to make the same generalisation, actually! Even post times can be misleading, though, like how you posted yours around 1 am, it seems, and I'm posting now when it's 5 am (in Sweden).

A bit of story time, if y'all will indulge me. Back in June of 2011, I took a trip to London at the end of my junior year of HS(same as Azusa's). This was before I started watching anime, and there for didn't know K-on even existed. But what makes this interesting is, I remember walking past a cafe(I didn't know it was special at the time) with their picture in the window and thinking to myself, "Lol, of all the places to find anime." Also, even though they took their trip a few months earlier, it is still one of the uncanny similarities between their life and mine(I know lots of people say stuff like that, but what are the odds, honestly?).

Very envious of you guys for having the chance to visit it! I visited London, myself, about three years ago. That was before I got into Keion, however, and my visit was far too short to see everything. The city was really lovely, I think, so I'd love to visit again soon, and the extra bonus of visiting that café is a really strong incentive for me to visit soon! I'll be doing some travelling this summer, so why not include a UK trip while I'm on it?
Do we have an exact address for the café? Also, I too am really curious about whether they still have that poster put up; Tenshiro, when did you visit? And anon, that's really remarkable how you happened to stop by the café accidentally like that and remember it, and how the timing fit so perfectly! Very cool!

I went looking a little myself after my comments above, and found a photo from late 2014, but this is much better. Sweet! That really makes me smile to see it's probably still there today! This must be witnessed in person!
Also, I asked about the address above, but I realised afterwards that it was a famous café and easily came up when searching for it online. It's probably something I am supposed to know, but my (awful) excuse is I went into a Keion latency period after finishing the show, and never watched the movie. I have to soon, but I also really like the comfort of knowing I didn't reach the end and that there is still more to see, I'll admit.

I have just remembered, I have been there twice. And, I remember the dates well, because of events that happened afterwards. First was just to have a look, on my sisters birthday. So, that was early April of 2013.
The second was with a friend who lives in London, who I was visiting for his graduation. This was mid May 2015. The picture was there both times I visited.

One last thing that slipped my mind about that trip when I was writing, and I don't know how it did, because it was the best part AND the entire reason I was in London to begin with. The whole point of the trip was to perform a live concert at Victoria Embankment Gardens, which is more or less across from the London Eye where the girls performed. It was a wind ensemble and not a rock band, but again, it's a bit uncanny.

And nice, more confirmation that the picture is still there! And you said the café was nice too, so more reasons to visit! I recall reading that they have live bands perform in the basement of the café; did you check that out?
All this talk is getting me even more excited to make the trip there; best to take the chance as soon as possible, before it's too late. If I can make ends meet with school, maybe I'll even consider going before summer. If not, I'd probably not be able to go until august because albeit I'll be travelling a lot, all of July's plans are already set in stone.
So much to figure out, but one step at a time! Valentine's is just around the corner now!

London is definitely a good place to visit, I hope you can pull it off, because it's worth it(I'd definitely go back in a heartbeat if I could). It's go so much history in it and, for a city, it's not hopelessly filthy. Also, if you're an American, it helps that the majority of people speak english, lol.

Cool! You still play the trumpet, I presume? Oh, and I've been in London already - I made a post earlier about how I'd visited before I got into K-On! I'm Swedish also, so I could find plane tickets to London that are very cheap! That's the reason I'm considering going before the beginning of summer while I still have school - I could potentially spare a few days to have a mini-holiday, is my idea! But I'll have to see how realistic that is, since the rest of the semester is unpredictable for me.
I'm assuming you live too far away to make it back as easily as me?

I've looked forward to this day a whole lot, and what a day it's been! I'll spare all the details for now, and just say it's been filled with fluttery feelings and many smiling moments!
I can safely say that my feelings for this angel have been growing constantly since I first fell in love with her, and I'm happy I was able to make something special for her to make Valentine's day truly magical.
I've mentioned my guitar before, but never shown it before - I named her after Yui, because she was my inspiration to start playing, and has been my greatest motivation since, and hence I felt obliged to include her, as well.

Great to see the archive updated again!
I was actually curious about why threads 1-17 weren't included in the archive. I recall looking through the Desustorage archives to look through the old threads and it seemed to work just fine, but when I look now it seems that most of the images are 404'd. The site has a notice about bandwidth issues, so maybe that's causing this, and the images will be back later? Quite an impressive blast from the past I would imagine! Makes me wonder if you expected to still be doing these threads so far into the future - great work either way! Yes, the bulk of the celebrations takes place over on /a/, where they put together a collage of the contributions. I only recall seeing four Yui contributions, not 7, that got accepted, however. It's quite nice, still - I think for the Christmas collage there were only two. I'm a little surprised so few contributions are cross posted over to /c/ though. Maybe many of the posters there don't frequent /c/ so they forgot about it, or they just don't care.

I twiddle around a bit now, but sadly I don't get to play much anymore, as I'm no longer part of an ensemble. I had planned to join a local orchestra when I graduated high school, but life got in the way, and at this point I'm about three years out of practice. My technique is probably fine, but it's a matter of "use it or loose it" with embouchure(lip) strength, because the muscles you use for your embouchure aren't normally worked nearly as much or as vigorously. Talking about it has got me wanting to get back to it, though.

Sorry to hear you've been having trouble to play as much as you'd wish. I know the feeling; after I graduated high school and moved to a new city I had to give up several things, as other things got in the way. But progressively, as I found a rhythm to everything I was able to find time for new things again, such as the guitar. Sure, time is still hard to manage and I feel constantly behind schedule on things, but it's manageable. Anyway, my point is that I hope you find time to play again. Music really is a wonderful thing and having an instrument to play is a true gift. Speaking of, >>2596370 did you find time for the guitar yet? I recall you made a post about it a while back.
Also, I totally underestimated the importance of strengthening your embouchure for playing wind instruments. It makes me curious about exactly how it works and how specific it is. Like, is it transferable between instruments, would it make it easier to blow up balloons, would it be measurable with spirometry? Interesting stuff!

Also, I'm glad that you remember that post. I regret to inform you that I am still in the same small room as I was when I first mentioned that post and am yet to get back into playing my guitar.
Tell you what, I'll pull it out tomorrow and fiddle around with it for a bit, see if that makes me want to keep at it or even start taking lessons. If I just try, even a little bit, who knows. I may just want to keep on going with it.

Yeah, I think it's nice to try to have a rough idea of the people here, so I try to remember things like that. Adds an extra dimension, I think. And it sure helps when I have a name to associate it with!
I remember you mentioning something about that room too. Is there something about your room that makes it difficult for you to play? Happy to hear you're giving it a try again! I understand about having trouble finding the motivation to play. But giving it time and establishing a routine helped me; nowadays it's rather a problem where I actually have to force myself to quit playing, to make time for other things. But I do really recommend following some plan when starting out. It gets a lot more fun to play when you are familiar with the basics and can start learning songs. Did you have a look at the justinguitar website I mentioned back then? Warmly recommended! It's a lot easier to stay motivated when you objectively can track your progress and what you've learned.

Awesome! Keep up with it now that you've got started and before you know it you'll have made great progress and look back at what you've learned with a big smile! The learning curve can be really jumpy, where you play for days or weeks without noticing much of a difference, until suddenly one day you notice a big jump. It's a really satisfying feeling when you get there, though! When you're just starting out, since everything is so new, the learning curve is a lot more generous, though, so have faith and give it time!
Hope the site works well for you! In the beginning it's a lot of chords to learn, but it's a lot of fun, and a quick easy way to be able to pay along with some songs early. Best of luck!
