Speaking of Evangelion, I just watched EoE today. Can somebody explain what the fuck happened? Or at least try? I don't want none of that, "hurr durr there's no explanation the author didn't know what he was doing". Maybe he didn't, but there's still a connection between the things and bullshit that went on.
I'm still confused on:
A) What the fuck are the Eva's? Are they Human? Or are they Angels? From what I understand, whatever it is, the Eva's (or at least Eva 01) contain the soul of a lost parent.
B) What exactly are the angels, and why is this "Adam" one down in the deep dark spooky basement so special? Also, what's up with that spear they threw into lunar orbit?
C) What is Rei's entire deal? I get that she's used to make the dummy plugs, but is she an angel? Or a synthetic human? Or what the fuck?
D) Who are those secret committee people? Or SEELE if you wanna call them that. What makes them significant?
E) Did Shinji become god or something? Why did he choose to destroy the world and start over?
Can any of you guys explain those to me? Or do I need to take this to /a/? Or maybe /m/?

desu it sounds like you might wanna rewatch the last 1/3rd or 1/4th of the series & eoe again. but also you should just focus on the thematics, the stuff that happens in-universe is subservient to the themes and emotions of the sequences. getting down deep into all the pointless fluff from the ps2 game and all that isn't really going to answer any fundamental questions, especially ones like 'why did shinji destroy the world'. eva is a story about the emotions of its characters, and all the rest of it is just there to facilitate that. it's best not to get too bogged down in trying to pick apart the sci fi or the minutiae of the plot, it's not the primary element

Earth was supposed to be seeded by Adam, however the other seed, Lilith, also crash landed on earth. Adam is the embryo-looking one that later fuses with Gendo. It's special since this whole shebang between Adam and Lilith is the entire reason why the angels are interested in Japan, specifically NERV.

Fortunately, the JEWS didn't get to pull off their Zionist Instrumentality Project. Shinji, after realizing that spending the rest of time as a puddle of orange juice was a fucking dumb idea, opted to give humanity the choice of returning to reality, complete with all the pain and joys that are associated with human interaction (which is summed up in the final scene where Asuka reaches out to Shinji even after being attacked by him). In Instrumentality, everyone becomes one and rejection becomes impossible since there's no longer any concept of individuality anymore. Shinji decides that being free of pain and social rejection isn't worth the cost of never being with someone ever again.

Putting aside the fact that anyone could have made that comment, resorting to sectarianism is not the way to handle this. I don't much care for KxA but I can see why some people dig it - it's shocking and depraved for Kaworu to do something straight for a change. As Takeshi Kamiyama explained, when someone does something unusual for their nature, the effect is amplified many times over, even if it is considered something trivial when other people do it. It also pisses off the fujoshifag K/S shippers (such as Anno himself), and that can't be a bad thing.
And let's face it, Kaworu would likely be a much "healthier" boyfriend for her than Shinji. But the only OTP is Asuka x me obviously!
