Range and decent accuracy. I dont need to hit someones head consistenly just a human sized target 80 m away. Oh and average rof. Not some bb hose piece of shit because thats just stupid.

Might as well as spice this up because I know this will cause a shitstorm, but hopefully some discussion as well.

My definition of a good gun is as high power as the local regulations allow, with at least +25rps. However, I have little interest towards ultimate accuracy on that end: with a high enough rate of fire you can make up for the lack of pinpoint accuracy. That is not the main reason for the high rate of fire though, but it's something else: foliage.

Foliage tends to fuck up BBs' accuracy, even heavier ones', so rate of fire is there to make up for it, in hopes of either having one of the BBs clearing the foliage, avoiding enough leaves and brush, or alternatively just being lucky enough to go straight enough.

But neither of those two is the most valuable thing: most valuable thing is reliability. When I go airshitting, I want to load my batteries, plug them in, load my mags, and be done with setting up, without having to spend an hour tearing up my gearbox and in the end resorting to a stock Combat Machine because my rifle refuses to feed. And I don't want it either breaking down mid-game - what use is a gun that does not function? High cyclic rate is good, but it has little value if your BBs aren't flying the same rate.
>>
>>1195229
See this is where my jew sense is tingling. Id rather have to shoot and potentially waste fewer bbs than to shoot a full mid cap and hope for the best. Foliage isnt a real issue for me since I almost always cheeki breeki around the sides to shoot someone in the back. Rarely have I ever hit someone through thick foliage and the other way around. I didnt mention reliability as I never had any problems with any of my guns at all miraculously.
>>
>>1195235
I forgot one thing. People tend to be fags and not call hits when getting hit through thick foliage hence why I try to avoid having to shoot through foliage.
>>
>>1195235
I'm one of those sneaky breeki ones as well, but there's often foliage regardless, and I've noticed even thin foliage can deflect BBs easily.

Or then it's just the opponents not calling out hits, like you speculated.

Either way, a high cyclic rate makes up for both of those: for deflections, the way I described before, and for those people who don't call out their hits - well, single shots might not get called out, but ten shots are more likely.

Rate of fire also has another very important use: those situations where you and your opponent catch each other from distance where you could just start swordfighting. High RPS burst has a higher chance of connecting a shot on snapfire than low RPS burst, not to mention rapid semi.

And yes, I've had plenty of situations where neither one manages to hit the other with the initial burst, despite being almost in touching range. It happens.

I've neither had any trouble so far with my G3KA4, despite having shot out +10k BBs with a stock Marui piston. Only signs of wear, but no breakage yet. Nevertheless reliability is the key. I way too often see people tinker with their guns for ages, slowing down the game start, as they can't just get them working.
>>
>>1195229
I prefer to be an ASSAULT rifleman so I hear you
I like to use semi-automatic fire to pin the other team as I move up, so "good enough" accuracy is all I care for.
>>
>>1195364
My favourite thing to do is suppress someone at a window, drop my gun, and sprint up and shoot them point blank with my pistol

Works every time (90% of the time)

How do I get better trigger response from my aeg

I'm using a 9.6v nimh in it right now and when I shoot I hear wrrrPOP, when I use that same battery in my combat machine I can pull the trigger and it shoots with no delay. Will using an 11.1 lipo speed it up? It came with a mosfet and says its lipo ready

Here's a pic of my aeg, it's an apex r5
>>
>>1195184
>What is your definition of a "good" airsoft gun?
Around 30RPS, 1.6J and R-hopped barrel.
>What do you require of a gun to consider it field-worthy?
20RPS< and 1J<. Consistency in velocity and hop up. Well tuned gearbox with no gear noises or air leaks.
>>
>>1195607
>How do I get better trigger response from my aeg
Higher voltage, higher discharge rating, high torque motor, low ratio gears
>Will using an 11.1 lipo speed it up?
Yes
>It came with a mosfet and says its lipo ready
Knowing Classic Army, It most likely isn't even though it has a mosfet in it.
>Why is my gun not LiPo-ready?
It'll need a tougher piston and some basic mods.
>>
>>1195617
Classic army makes Apex? What kind of miss do I need to do?
>>
>>1195626
You need to correct the piston angle of engagement with sorbothane and round the cylinder window corners. It would also help with the trigger response and overall reliability if you looked up how to shim the bevel to pinion.

>>
>>1195742
Not everyone is a milsim fag with a 215$ hoodie. All fields around here in forests. You need RPS to penetrate the bush and foliage. High RPS also sounds intimidating and most definitely affects the playstyle of the receiving end.
>>
>>1195817

Semi auto is the best especially with a good motor. You can suppress easily and with a bit more precision.

Nvm, I fucked up you're right.

High torque won't get you 30 rpm but it will give high start/stop.
>>

Before you say anything more stupid, I'll give you a hint: The airsoft manufacturers haven't made any agreements what's a ''High torque'' or ''High speed''.
You can most definitely achieve 30RPS with high torque motor. Hell, I got a 50RPS AEG with a high torque motor.

Field-worthy? Works, shoots straight and has decent enough FPS/RPS/trigger response to match others.
Good? Something nice-looking, matching the rest of guy's equipment, and no easy way outs like a huge battery strapped on the front. I really like seeing new guns, as the majority of people run with M15s, despite slavshit/fleckshit costs pennies as we're just between Slavshitland and Fleckshitland.

Depends on the mix. What they have there isn't so bad, tan gear+camo BDU is pretty common among operators. PMCs aren't allowed to wear official camos that are in military use so that there wouldn't be mixups afaik. Let's say that PMC Group A is doing something borderline illegal while wearing Multicam, Marpat or whatever and a news reporter or a local with a smartphone confuses them with marines.

Building muscle is easy and relatively fast. Training cardio takes much longer and because it has a large mental component to it. The ability to keep pushing and ignore when your body is telling you it has nothing left can take years to develop. There's something the SEALS use called the 40% rule. When your body tells you it has nothing left you've only truly used 40% of what your body has to give. It's about pushing through that mental barrier. This is what you need to train.
>>
>>1197522
like i said, rather then explosives movements or one that you use to build muscle,it's for lugging around carrying yourself in an airsoft game, kinda like military training
>>1197527
yeah i'm trying to find that kind of mindset, would've joined the military honestly if it wasn't for me having a condition and furthering my education
>>
>>1197535
You need to train with other people. No one wants to be the guy that falls down and says "no more!" so you will feed of each other to keep going far past where you would collapse on your own. I used to play AAA hockey (future pros) and we would go up north every summer in the off season as a team and live in our coach's cabin. We would bike, swim, run, do calisthenics etc etc everyday. When there's 25 of you, trust me, it feels like shit to be at the back of the pack. You can't buy that kind of motivation.

I'm with you. The most regular, clean playing airsofter at my local field is like 13. In fact, the majority of the players under 18 at my field are the opposite of problem children. Most of the drama comes from older players.

>>1198434
Because it keeps minors who ARE good, honorable players from playing. Kids might look and even act cringey, but some solid guidance from experienced players could mean the difference between a cringey, dirty-playing adult and a clean, tier-fun operator buddy adult.

Just save your time and don't post it ever again since it proves nothing.
For every video of kids playing fair and nice I can post a hundred of kids throwing a tantrum, not calling hits and generally acting childish. Because guess what, that's what they are and that's how they behave.

I'm not saying that it is justifiable to systematically ban certain age ranges from playing mind you but if you actually believe that it wouldn't help the vast majority of times then you are beyond deluded.
>>
>>1198614
>For every video of kids playing fair and nice I can post a hundred of kids throwing a tantrum, not calling hits and generally acting childish.
Well duh, there's so many because those are the videos that people most want to see of underage airsofters. I mean a video titled "WATCH THIS KID CALL HIS HITS AND PLAY FAIR" isn't quite as enticing as videos like the whole "Rest In Peace, Kid" fiasco (which, hilariously, was committed by an 18yo)

But I guess you didn't get the message either, because it's not "minors are always well behaved little airsoft angels" it's that those responsible for ensuring the minors in their community play clean is the community. It doesn't change for the adults either, it's up to the community to hold shitty players in general responsible for their actions. The difference is that MOST kids will actually listen to feedback more often than not, and will change bad behaviors with clear feedback. If you're not capable of that much, of showing some damned leadership to the less experienced players, you've got no right to complain if they learn bad behaviors from the wrong people. 18+ just lets you hide from being responsible for your hobby and actively shrinks the market since fresh blood becomes much older and difficult to retain.

Well I got the rear pin out, and it seems like the bolt-release is what gets in the way of the magazine seating.

With the upper hinged open, I can fit the magazine in, but the bolt is otherwise in the way of the bolt-release, which in turn gets in the way of the magazine seating.

Is there way to fix this?
>>
>>1200718
There should be a little switch on the magazine that disables the last round hold open.

If I fidget with it, I can get the magazine to seat, and then be able to properly close the upper and lower together, but when I release the magazine, it's the same again and it won't lock.

It seems like it's the bolt-release that's out of spec somehow.

>>1201439
I see a little tab on the top (I've never seen this on any other GBB mag, but then again, I'm green as fuck), it wiggles slightly if I touch it, but I'm not really sure how it toggles, it doesn't seem to press in, or slide in any direction.

When I load in BBs in the magazine, that little springloaded thing on the back drops (the one on the far left in this image), but other than that the situation is the same.

It could be that the bolt lock is just shit (Very possible), or you got a magazine without the little tab that pushed up on the bolt stop.
Does the bolt hold open with a magazine out when you fiddle with the forward assist?
>>
>>1201460
What's the bolt lock now again?

And the forward assist doesn't quite do anything really, other than assisting forward, if I fiddle with the bolt-carrier to not be quite closed, the forward assist will push it into battery, but it doesn't seem to affect the way the magazine inserts.
>>
>>1201467

RA Tech.

I checked it out, but couldn't find anything in stock, in the meanwhile, I applied a bit more force when putting in the mag (I tend to be more gentle with airsoft, as it's not made of actual steel and weaker plastic, so I don't know if this is bad for it), I also applied a bit of Ballistol onto the cutout on the mag, the magazine catch, and the bolt release, and they actually kind of engage a little (also applied some onto the rear receiver pin, because it's really rough to take out).
Man, Ballistol really is useful.

I figure it's just the rough manufacture of the parts in question, given the price-range, but I'll keep RA Tech parts in mind, I hear WE rifles aren't among the sturdiest.

It wouldn't really be classic on an old CAR-15 model, but the one I got isn't really perfectly correct, so that doesn't quite matter (I got it for the length, muzzle-device, and receiver, I don't mind if it ends up looking kind of piecemeal)

Oh yeah, you should have no problem at all with those.

Make sure to hit people and cars as well. Bonus points for feds and children.

What's the general consensus about using silicone in the mags?
Some say it's necessary, some others they have never done it.
>>
>>1202469
I heard that it gets onto the BBs and makes the Magnus effect inconsistent, resulting in decreasing accuracy. I just take mine apart and clean them with water thoroughly. Less things in the mag, less to go wrong, ya'know?

Aeg mags? from time to time, just a bit and run a bb with the barrel cleaner to spread it (mid cap)

High cap, just open it and clean it.

GBB mags, Yes lube that shit.

Hey, I'm going to buy krytac trident spr and want to build a dmr.

What attachments should I buy?

SPR's are awesome, I have one. Externally I'd maybe get some keymod rail sections because it only has an upper rail and a sight/scope but other than that it's fine on the outside for what you're using it for, just focus on internals.

The internals are kind of what I'm getting it for. The weather here is rough so I want a durable gun.

Thinking of getting a 4-16x scope and a bipod and maybe a new spring to upgrade the fps. Here the limit for AEGs is 500fps so I'd want to be pretty close to that.

Going to Budapest myself for the same sort of thing. Gonna do a Conscript circa '83 senpai.

Liking the loadout though mang.

Depending on field rules you may need to make it semi only to get a DMR-level FPS.

Also I have no idea what battery to get.

Internally it's a brilliant rifle out the box, I can't recommend it enough. You could have a fantastic rifle with some upgrades.
I use a 7.4 nunchuck battery, it's got plenty of space. Rate of fire is great with a 7.4 so I haven't went any higher.

Where are you at? At my site (Section 8 in Scotland) the limit is 425 with a .20.
