Hey /an/ a traveling newfag here
I arrived in Azerbaijan yesterday and had a hard time sleeping because of some very loud singing bugs at first i thought it to be a cricket but one of the people living nearby said they looked like big black flies almost and they just sit on trees. So i'm guessing it's a Cicada right? but when i google Cicada locations or Cicada azerbaijan i find nothing. What do you guys think it is?

Probably cicadas. Theres not really anything else that matches that description and is loud as fuck.

sounds like cicadas that the people described, but the singing at night is a no. step up your googling game and don't trust anybody to know anything about insects.
