Best recipe for child biting. Labs and goldens are among the breeds that bite the most, because they're "oh so kind and nice and gentle", so it's okay if Little Johnny pulls on the poor dog's ears and tails for half an hour. Until the dog snaps and bites. And even though they usually have gentle jaws without much training and are good at bite inhibition very fast, they can still bite as hard as any other dog if they want to.

I agree with your point but in that situation ANY dog would get annoyed after a certain point. I was thinking about something simple like meeting a stranger or playing in the park. Labs and Goldens tend to greet everyone like a best friend
For example just today I was walking my dog and a GSD on our block ran out of its house (the door was left open) and immediately went for my pup. Nothing against that breed, but they, among others, tend to be more neurotic or aggressive without proper stimulation than something like a retriever would be

No. I've had 4 different goldens over the course of my life all of them lived happy lives none of them died of cancer or even had a fatty tumor which are most often benign for dogs anyways. If you live near the woods be careful of lymes disease though, that really can kill a dog we had to put one of ours down when I was a kid because of it :(

Mine does the same. When we're cuddling he'll just kind of gold my hand in his mouth and let it rest there. Very strange and probably gross to most people but I allow him to do it
