Yep, corn snakes are a great choice for first time snake. Docile, active, good feeding response. Other good options are rosy boas (small size) and the antaresia pythons. Most common antaresia are Children's python (small) and spotted python (medium size). Rosys and the antaresia pythons can be nippy as babies but tame down very easily.

Yes. Easy care for those as well. Kings can be spirited though. Expect to be bit (it doesn't hurt) and musked (it smells) for the first little while until you have acclimated snek to your presence.
