This. Aunt owned two. One always growled at house guests, other bit a kid in the ass but managed to avoid being put down. Several neighbors had them and they always, without fail, let them go off leash then proceeded to attack my dog until I started kicking them in the face (this was about 5 different dogs over the course of 8 years).

10-month old pup that was surrendered to the shelter I work in. The owner said he's a mix of boxer and GSD but I don't see any boxer in him at all. He has a normal, straight back so I don't think he's full GSD though. Extremely high energy but willing to learn and insanely affectionate.

Rotties are nice, theyre quite a lot like german shephards. They're just scarier and bite harder, as well as being very protective of their owners (not that sheps arent, but rotties were bred as civilian companion dogs whereas most common lines of german shephards come from military breeders which have slightly different breeding criteria.
