Found this on a beach in Texas a couple years back and have been wondering what it is.
Can anyone help identify?
I would say drum fish but they are freshwater fish. They do have teeth like that and that is def teeth and part of a jaw.
Pharyngeal teeth. Teeth from a fish's throat. Several species have them. Many rivers empty into the Gulf of Mexico so it is quite likely that it came from a freshwater fish but was carried to a saltwater beach. Anon is probably right - I'm guessing drum.

Those are probably from a black drum. I hate taking the gills out of them because of that plate.
