Do exotic vets give a shit about illegal animals? I see vets here in california taking care of tons of people with ferrets and hedgehogs or whatever, but if someone came to one of those places with an alligator or monkey or something would they still not do anything?
I remember hearing something about vets don't turn people in for exotics, but is that actually true?
Probably depends on the vet. When in doubt, sort through their trash or follow them home and see if you can get any dirt on them for leverage.

I'm assuming a vet who does a load of work with ferrets wouldn't want to be known for turning someone in for an animal, because they'd probably lose a big hunk of their business.
I just learned that at least 90% of exotic animals that are illegal in California, are legal in my state of Michigan.
I can't really imagine most exotic vets in Cali are going to report you to the police for having an illegal GERBIL.
