Starting with Humphrey, who I believe is a retriever/chow/rottweiler mix according to his owner who used to post here.
Anything mixed with husky tends to look awesome, really.

Catahoula leopard dog isn't a specific breed exactly... Basically it's a spotted mutt.

Just because the AKC doesn't consider them a breed, doesn't mean they aren't. They are a breed, but it's really only the breed-specific clubs that are working on their standard(which may be even stricter than the AKC). The United Kennel Club also recognizes them as a breed.
AKC considers them a 'foundation' breed(along with azawakh, caucasion ovcharka, dogo argentino, karelian bear dog, thai ridgeback, etc), which means they need to be developed more before they allow them to be acceptable for registry.
Unless you're talking about the american leopard hound/cur, not the catahoula cur/catahoula leopard dog. American leopard hounds are straight up mutts mixed with numerous actual curs, and cataholouas. The problem is that any merle working dog that isn't collie/shepherds gets shoved under the catahoula umbrella.

My problem is I don't know how old she is. For a comparison she is ~3 inches shorter than a Belgian Malinois at the shoulder. Dunno if that helps.

Yeah, pretty soft. She also has some feathers on her butt. Around New dogs shes a little tense, tries to be dominant. Once she gets to know them though, which doesn't take long for her apparently, she's all play.

Feathery/fluff does and the perked ear def indicates a mutt. She def looks like a catahoula mix but mixed with what is impossible to tell by looking at her. The only 'shepherd' thing about her is the ears and her head is pretty narrow, but that could also easily happen between her being a mix of something else like a blue heeler or kelpie.
I also don't think she is a german shepherd mix because every supposed GS/CC mix I'm finding, the GS traits are much more prominent in terms of build and coat type.

Anything I can look at to help me find out? Stuff like teeth or number of nipples? Haha. It doesn't bother me that she is a mix, but I'd really like to know. For curiositys sake. Anyway I could find a definite age too? She acts a lot like a puppy, but she seems grown into her body. Her teeth are pearly white, so I know she's young.

You could do one of those breed DNA tests. Thats about it. It's not 100% accurate but enough to do it if you're that curious. Vet should be able to roughly determine her age.

Vets said she was a year and a half. There's no way. Unless I'm an idiot, of course. DNA tests are expensive, I'm not that curious. I'll just be happy with the new pup!

There's an akita that my dog plays with at the dog park pretty often. She ignores most people. Seems good with big dogs but she likes to play rough and her prey drive is really intense. Her owners seem observant and knowledgeable, which is good. They don't let her chase small dogs.

Buddy is a typical light straw color, but his uneven ears melt hearts everywhere. Half Golden Reteiver, half mutt. Is somehow half the size and weight of my purebred Golden despite being 11 months old. It's like having a permanent puppy!
