No, that's not "normal" for jaguars, any more than it's normal for emperor penguins to be solid black.
It's only shows up because the dense jungle foliage makes it slightly easier for melanistic predators to survive to adulthood, rather than if they where a solid black lion in africa.
That, and certain traits are bred for in captivity, like white tigers.
But it's not "normal" in the slightest.

Actually, if I am remembering correctly, peahens pick males based on the number of their "eyes" rather than coloring. And since birds can see in the ultraviolet light spectrum, all the "eyes" may still show up perfectly clearly for the peahens, so it could very well not make much of a difference.

Not a chimera. This is from random X chromosome methylation. The color of cat fur is determined on the X chromosome and in a lot of mammals having more than one active X chromosome causes problems. So part way through development a random one is turned of and all resulting cells later on have the same X turned off. This is why usually only females are calico.

Every one of those cats is a Burmese. Burmese come pretty much exclusively in varying shades of brown. It's not abnormal for them, but it is in cats that don't have any proper breed in them.
I used to have a cat that was pure chocolate brown on the body, not even the faintest hint of a tabby stripe to be found on her, no 'M' shape on the forehead.
She was also probably around 11 generations inbred by this one gigantic monstrosity of a tom that impregnated every cat in the area constantly.
We got her very young specifically because of her colour, she wouldn't have survived long as a feral because she was extremely retarded from birth.
She had a huge amount of physical and mental issues, just to name a few:

>proportions were all off. Tail too short and weak to keep balance, she constantly fell off things.
>eyes were never properly in focus, one always went in the opposite direction.

She just went into the bushes to die one day when she was about 9. I've always been amazed she made it that long.
