Anyyone have any idea of what he might be doing? He's been ripping up newspaper and creating that little mess in the corner. He's a 13 year old peachfaced lovebird and still very active and had a companion who passed away about 5 years ago.

He's trying to rebuild his companion, of course. He researched for so long.
Finaly he (thinks he) have the technology.
Maybe later he will realise one component is still missing - your soul. Or something like that.

Could be nesting behavior. Nothing serious, install a grate or something.

He's trying to get comfy. Cassowaries do this too with your organs.

He's preparing for the apocalypse. You should prepare too.

He's building his death bed. He's dying of loneliness, OP.
Looks like he's trying to build a nest or something. My female Quaker is going through this shit right now, she's hormonal as hell.

Just keeping himself busy.
Birds at the shelter do this all the time with newspaper, they love ripping it up.
Get him a new companion.

He kept accidentally reading the same page over and over, now he shreds a page after he's read it.
Try some more dense reading material like James Joyce.
