Is my dog about to die?
My dog was mostly fine yesterday.
She's an overweight 13 year beagle, and she has cushions, so we know the end is near.
But she was fine today, but tonight she just started barking/howling in the house for no reason.
He legs have been giving out for the last 4 months, but tonight has to be the worst.
Tried to give her her pain pills in her favorite foods, just yesterday she was begging for everything I ate.
Tried to put her pill in a cooked porkchop, she won't eat it.
She won't touch her dog food now, she won't even eat meat that the pill isn't in.
When I hold it to her mouth, she instead licked my wrist.
Then I notice she vomited a sizable amount near her cage, with a lot of grass in it.
She's walking around the house, stopping and laying down, places she never wood because we have hard wood floors.
She even went in my room, which she never does, and I wasn't even in it and layed on a pile of dirty cloths, then started barking.
We've had some dead rats in the back yard from the garage poison, bet we put her on a rope in the front yard, never in the back. I don't think she eats dead animals or a rat made it to the front yard.
She's also licking her paws and the floor a lot.
Is tonight the night?
Take her to the vet.

She had a seizure.
Animals are always funky after seizures.
But it sounds like your puppy isn't enjoying being alive anymore.
Try to give her some comfort before you can take her to a vet to end her pain.

Sorry for your loss. But OP, with your next dog don't let them get overweight, it causes so many issues.

Sorry to hear it happened.
I know exactly how that feels - the last dog we had was becoming less and less aware of people in general and definitely in pain or some mental distress. Did all I could for the guy - the howling all night stuff reminded me of the all nighters i'd pull being with him in his last few weeks so family could get a good nights sleep.
Please be safe, OP, it can be extremely trying to see a friend start to fade away.

Depends on what kind of seizure I guess.
I don't know the difference, but my dogs that had seizures were always "lost" for a long while after the episode.
But all those dogs who has seizures where old as shit.

As long as you were there near the end, that's all a dog really wants. Some dogs don't get that simple treatment, more than you'd expect.

Holy crap! Look at that raggedy looking thing. I would have trashed that dog and gotten a younger one long ago, but good on you op for having that kind of patience. Dogs are no fun when they get passed 7 years old. :(

Sorry for the loss OP. I'm going to be going though the same thing soon. My dog is 15 and has gone deaf, her hips are going out and she has a kidney stone (that we are not sure if it effects her). My family has basically turned against her and don't like her anymore now that she is an inconvenience like being slow moving and standing in the way as you are walking by. As long as you were there for your dog during her hard times I can tell she had a good owner and must have been happy.

She loved you truly, as much as you loved her, and you meant everything to her.
Never forget her, just remember how you did your best and she was happy, and that she appreciated you.
