Just where do you find dogs? I am an idiot

>local newspaper "free" section
what kind of dog are you after? any specific breed? are you ok with a dog that might have health problems or behavioural problems? how much training are you willing to do? how much space do you have? do you live in a city, suburb, or rural area?

Haha. Yeah, you are.

go to your local shelter first
bail a doggo out of jail, doggo will be forever grateful

Oh nevermind you're right. I forgot shelters are a thing. Sorry. Told you I'm an idiot. Extremely worn out right now.
I'm looking for a dog to keep me company. No specific breed needed. I don't want something with health or behavior problems. I don't know how to train a dog so I'd prefer a dog that has already been largely trained by previous owners. How much space is my yard? 3 acres. And there's lots of parks within short driving distance of my house. I'd say I live in something less populated than a city but less populated than a suburb, but not a complete rural area.
Maybe a good dog for me is a family pet that they just can't take due to no dogs allowed maybe, or just can't take care of it anymore

>no health or behaviour problems
>already trained
then be prepared to do a lot of searching or pay a lot of money. and definitely don't go through craigslist. I wouldn't trust the honesty of anybody on there as far as I could throw them.

Why did I hit the jackpot on our family's dog, then? She was incredibly well trained, and no behavior problems. She did get health problems as she aged. But if I can find a dog like that, then I can find one again
