ITT: Does /adv/ have experiences in life transformation? Have you been trying to develop yourself mentally? How has it been?

I'm recovering from severe depression, been down for a longer time and now i'm first time single after 10+ years of relationships. I try slowly to get my self standing again. Losing weight and trying to work on my mental well being as well.

I heard one has to learn to love himself first untill its possible to be in a new relationship and this is what i try. I'm also moving back to my home country soon after many years being abroad, im changing studies also. I watch life coach videos from youtube and really trying to change my habits, change negative mindloops and become more confident.

Take it one step at a time. You won't be able to change into a completely new person overnight. You have to change things about yourself step by step, and in time you will reinvent yourself to be the person you want to be. Don't be impatient, don't overwhelm yourself, take it one step at a time. Stop drinking soda, stop eating fast food, take a half hour walk every evening, do little things and start developing healthy habits step by step until they become a natural part of your everyday life. Good luck OP

yeah, it is a slow road. I think i understood something quite important recently. I started to view my situation as "i have a lot of potential" instead of "im just a piece of crap and there is so much work to do". It is easier to begin this transformation thinking that my cup is half full instead of half empty
