I went to Thailand a few months ago and ended up seeing a hooker. I'd say go for it, it's way cheaper than in the states or any western country. Just go to one of the red light districts in the evening and you'll see tons of brothels/strip clubs.

Fairly safe if you get her from a bar in one of the main tourist red light districts (Soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza). I've heard they have to have STD tests, also she's not likely to rob you if you know where she works and could get her fired. Just don't waste all night bar hopping paying for overpriced drinks for you and the girls and end up going home alone and out $100 for the night, that's the fucking worst. Baccarat bar on Soi Cowboy is usually pretty good for finding a girl.
