Hey adv, soon to be college student here. I am seriously worried about my study habits.
Through high school I struggled immensely to pass my classes. I just could not focus on my work.
What can I do to help focus on my assignments consistently? I'm starting to worry about my future.

Hello.

I'm a Medical Doctor, actually preparing myself to be a specialist.

You have to discipline yourself to study, from 5 pm to 8 pm, you'll do nothing but read the damned books.

You've to force it, just like going to the gym.

discipline, there's no other way around it.

Well, I guess it's time to gear down and push myself. Thanks.

If there is a test 4 weeks from now study for it TODAY. Until the test. The trick is, doing a little bit at a time

>Cramming doesn't really work

Brains have a tendency to retain more info via trickle-feed.

>Reward yourself
Study for an hour solid, then game for 2. It takes longer to study but that's why you do it early

>Isolation
Be careful with this one, always have some chill music playing or go to the library with other folks in the vicinity.

>eating habits
snack on something, and read

>set goals
do things like "I'm going to read pages 100-160 today" something like that.

I graduated college back in 2011, and this is what i did to get by/get myself back out of the pit of failure.

I'm currently a mediocre second year student studying biology.

You'll be able to scrape by with your shitty habits, you'll fail a unit here and there and get completely average marks in the majority of your passed units. Unfortunately I'm not sure how to escape the rut either, I've always HATED self driven study (and the study only gets more self-driven in uni') and it's cost me.
