I was wondering if it was legal for me to borrow my gf handgun to go shoot at a range in colorado

Not absolutely certain about CO (or local city laws). But generally, if she has the appropriate license, she can take the gun, unloaded and in a case, to the range to shoot. You can't carry the gun, but once there at the range you can shoot it.
So go with her and don'ttouch the gun until you're there.

As long as you're not a felon or otherwise prohibited person you should be fine to borrow the weapon so long as you do not cross state lines. Local laws may vary, but state and federal law puts you in the clear.
