Before my gf and I were officially dating she had sex with and had previously hooked up with one of her close friends just a a few days before we decided we were in a relationship. They're still friends and see each other fairly regularly, but she assures me there is nothing for me to worry about regarding their relationship.
I still get jealous though and can't help but feel concerned whenever they hang out together.
Am I right to be jealous or am I overreacting?

In my opinion your jealousy is justified, if i imagine i would be in the same situation with my gf i would probably be like that aswell.
However i think it would be wrong to tell her to break up contact with him, you are her boyfriend after all and if there is no fundamental trust then i can assure you that you wouldn't be happy on the long term.
So just be chilll and relaxed and suck it up, you are not her owner.

I don't think you are over reacting and it is normal to be jealous of a guy still in your gf's life she fucked not long ago.
Couple questions,
Were you guys already dating but not committed just yet when she fucked the friend?
How did you decide you were in a relationship? What changed?
Have you had sex with her? When?

I don't understand a girls insistence she remain very close friends and socialize regularly alone with a guy they had a sexual relationship with when she enters a committed relationship with another man. The relationship with the "friend" should change (doesn't mean it ends) because her status has changed. What the girls expect is to continue to behave as if they are single and the guy they say they are committed to must accept it and shut up or get out.

When someone is in a relationship, they do not see, talk or interact with people they have previously fucked.
That's a rule if you want it to work.
