For example, if I'm friends with person A on FB and they are also on Tinder, is it possible to be matched with them? Or is there a setting to avoid matching w/ FB friends?

Yea, Tindr tries to match you with FB friends or friends of friends. There was once a setting to turn this off.

I also have a question. Does Tindr shadow ban for botting, or did I actually go unliked after swiping right on everyone in my city?
